My best memory of finishing a game was when I finished Batman Returns on SNES, I remember duking it out with the Penguin at the Arctic World, and one of his best moves would be to jump up and bite Batman on the nose. I also remember finishing it on Hard Mode, and I got a slightly different ending, so what's your best memory of beating a game??

It was the first game I loved, legend of zelda OOT. After the fight against ganon, which I won I stared at wonder at the end finale.
When you're chewing on life's gristle, don't grumble, give a whistle, and this'll help things turn out for the best, and Always look on the bright side of life.

Zybex, I highly agree. When I finish a game its like the end of another gaming chapter. Take for example when I finished Super Mario 1,2,3, it was like the end of an era.......these games were like a challenge to me when I got them, but when I finished them; they just didnt fit my skill level anymore because I had progressed with skill.

Just recently I beat Guitar Hero II on medium mode. I played Free Bird by Lynyrd Skynyrd (which is a 9+ minute song remember) for the 1st time and I got a 5 out of 5 star rating on it. I was so happy but then I was sad that there were no more famous songs to unlock and there was only the bonus songs by indie bands left. But whatever, those songs are okay. I guess.

Beating the original Super Mario Bros. for the first time...mostly because it was the first game I ever beat. Beating the original Metroid was also a huge memory because it had taken me months to figure out how to get through the game (I had no maps or anything to guide me...plus I was only 7).

For me it was when i finished Legend of Zelda: Link to The Past on the Snes it took me 1 day non-stop playing it. Man i was glad that i finished it in a day. I was a complete wreck the next day from playing it

I'm from the old skool and am talking Atari here. For me it would have to be Activision's Chopper Command, the side-scrolling game similar to defender where you had to eliminate the helicopters and zig-zagging jets. There was no true ending only until you flipped the high score (which could be said about half the games, not just from Atari themselves but other manufacturers who made Atari tapes). When you got to 999990 you heard the sound it would generate for the next board but it would repeat it as each remaining enemy disappeared until the Activision copyright at the bottom of the screen kept scrolling.
I'm not sure but I think Yar's Revenge went on forever even if you flipped the high score. Same goes for Asteroids. At least I have left-handed articulation thanks to the fire button being on the left side.

Mine would have to be The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. It was the music that did it for me.
Yeah the music was very nice :D a step up from the NES days of Zelda.

I remember this game that we had for SNES, like Pro Bass Fisher 5 or somthing. Anyway I remember my friends dad playing that for hours on end, and that annoying noise that the boat made when you wanted to change where you were fishing. Those were the days....
