Yes, the DS has sold much better. I'm afraid Nintendo is starting to win against Sony as opposed to how it was in the late 90's - early 2000's.

I think tey will eventually release some form of updated/new PSP but it will still lose to nintendo, they are the masters of handheld gaming

Nintendo's portable offerings have always been influenced by their unwillingness to release something without decent battery life. If they can overcome that and still offer optical media, then I wouldn't be surprised.
and thats why the original gameboy was in black and white when compared to the game gear. Although the game gear was still awsome.

i just sold a Gameboy pocket yellow with the lime green black and white for 25$ on ebay.
