those rpg game box sets! i wanted the lunar silver star story complete game set so bad but it was about 80 shanolas at my local gamestore! it probably costs about 300 somethin dollars now

PS3 as well. Even though they lowered the price, its still expensive, and $100 off isnt going to cut it.

Aside from the PS3, I remember seeing a mech combat game that came with its own giant controller. Price was $200 for the game + controller.

Well - first it was the Neo-Geo. $600 for the console, $125-$300 for game carts..
Then came the 3D0 - the biggest piece of overpriced garbage known to man.
Nowadays - it's the PS3. And maybe I was too hard on the 3D0.... ;)

No you wernt. From what I was told it was $700 when it came out in the early 90s. Adjust it to todays price and it would be almost $1,000!

I'm saying. Game systems were never cheap. Imagine what the price of the PS3 would have been if this was 1995? It would have cleared well over the 1000.00 range. Considering that things like minimum wage has went up over the years, price and economy rises along with it as well.
Anyways, the NEOGEO is unquestionably the most expensive video game console ever. 600.00 for the console and 150-300 for the games is absurd.
