I was an SNES guy myself. Hey, where Enix and Squaresoft go, I go.

As a kid i was all for the SNES. I did not like sega that much and still dont really. The SNES just had to many classic games on the system to be outdone by sega back in the 90s

The SNES was more my thing, as it had the Mario games, Zelda, and had a lot of other titles for it that were fun and innovative for the time (like Mario Paint, think of it, nobody else had a paint program in the home except those with an expensive personal computer, Nintendo put it all into a cart and mouse package). It also seems Nintendo was avoiding having to put all this ridiculous hardware on the SNES to get it to perform it's task of playing games at a higher level.

Grew up Genesis, converted to SNES over time.

        I now swing both ways.

Grew up on the Nintendo but played Sega at my friends houses sometimes. A couple games that stick out in my mind are the bevis and butt-head game and a simpson game. i remember in the simpson one there was a stage where you threw tomatoes at kids walking infront of the school. all in all sonic would probably kick marios ass in a fight, but mario is way better.

SNES had a lot of good 3rd party games but I think Sega did a great job with the games they made on their own.

Don't go all crazy on me this is just my opinion
Streets of Rage had better game play then Final Fight.

Phantasy Star had some of the best graphics in the 16bit days. It also was different from most other rpgs. And combination magic attacks were awesome.

Beyond Oasis was a good Zelda alternative

The Sonic games ran extremely fast and smooth for its time and rivaled even Mario

Shinobi games are the best ninja action for 16bit

Comix Zone and Vector Man were really cool.

For almost any game made on SNES Sega had a 1st party game to challenge it.

There are a number of 3rd part games only for Genesis but most of them arent big names
              Road Rash
              Pulseman
              Gunstar Heroes
              Splatterhouse

Plus a better version of Mortal Kombat (although it sucks to play it on the standard 3-button controller), Lethal Enforcers, and a great Contra game.

I still like SNES a lot but the Genesis had some cool shit.

I guess you can tell I am a Genesis guy.

But SNES had Earthbound, Metriod, the mario games, pilotwings...

They both has awesome games. However, I never played a RPG on the genesis that I actually liked.

I'm going to step outside the box and say TurboGrafx-16. Shit, it had Bonk and Bomberman before Nintendo did.

Yeah most RPGs on Genesis suck badly except for the ones made by Sega. Maybe there are a few more I dont know of.

SNES had better Street Fighter games too. It even had SF Alpha.

I want to know more about the TurboGrafx. I really was introduced to some of its cool games on the Wii's Virtual Console. I downloaded Devils Crush and Super Star Soldier and I really like them.

I do have fond memories of the Super NES, though :) .

I had the SNES. The only games I ever played on the Genesis were the Sonic games.

I am more like a SNES guy, because many of the games can save data if you want to take a break from playing them. :)

well...i LOVE the mario series and zelda but growin up i only had the NES and game boy, after that my next consoles were the GBA and Wii.

during the 16bit days my brother had the genesis and i got hooked on the sonic series as well as flashback and road rash.

i never did get to play a SNES, but recently i've been able to play super mario world and zelda: link to the past when they were re-released onto the GBA. i've also gotten to play super contra, castlevania 4, super ghouls n ghosts, and some others thru the Wiis virtual console.

The only game on the Sega Genesis I know that saves game data is "Sonic The Hedgehog 3".

SNES, never owned a Genesis to this day.

Thank goodness it's all the Genesis games that are being re-released in compilations. xP

for just about all the 90s, I was a SNES man

then around 1999 I got a Sega Genesis with sonic 1, 2, and 3. it was pretty fun.
