u guys know birdo from the mario games is really a boy i herd it on g4 channel show about mario series. they said for american audiences they want u to just think its a girl or something like that

yeah in the old mario 2 instruction booklet(where they mistranslated his name as Ostro) they said he " thinks hes a girl" and thinks his name is Catherine--he's touted as the first transvestite video game character

by the way FueledByParamore, do you know the name of the show on G4 that they showed this on?
It was a special 1 hour episode of X-Play. They were doing a Super Mario tribute and in the end they reviewed Super Mario Galaxy.
G4 can be full of bullshit. Y'all should know that by now.
Ostro was the name of another enemy, which was the bird the Shy Guys rided on. Mistake, it was.

there was a mario 2 released in asia only but it was 2 much like mario 1 so they didnt release it in america so instead there was a game only released in asia where ur like an aladdin type character and then they took the same exact game and replaced it with mario and released in america and we know it as mario 2

Didn't the Birdo and Ostro character names get flip-flopped in the instruction book, I'm pretty sure that was the case.

Actually, he would rather be called Birdetta. Catherine is his Japanese name.

And wouldn't you believe it, just after the edit, I just remembered. Birdo is a GIRL in the TV series (Super Mario Bros. Super Show), unless of course, the boy of the species is capable of having young, but I already think we're over analyzing things as it is.

In the Original game Doki Doki panic it was a boy and there was no bow on his head.
There wasn't a bow on it's head in Super Mario USA... explain that.

Yeah, I heard about that, so I figured Birdo was a transexual untill Super Mario Advance came out and you actually heard her voice before fighting her, and its kind of the same way in Mario Tennis. So I guess they changed Birdo to a girl so Yoshi would have a girlfriend in Mario Kart Double Dash.
