I mean yeah some games from here don't make it to Japan....but I think Japan makes more good games. List some great Japanese games you've found that were never released here. A good example is DDR extreme considering it was a massive hit here but it was never meant to be released over here. Except it actually made it here through arcade piracy. Oh also there's dodon pati. And many other schmup games made by cave that're just absolute masterpieces. My roommate introduced me to these things. Thank god raiden 3 made it here as a home version. Too bad we never got raiden 3 or 4 in the arcades. And we never got taiko no tatujin (taiko drum master) in arcades here either.

Oh I forgot...the Japanese ddr extreme for ps2 and the Japanese beatmania happy sky for ps2.....those would have been such a hit.

theres a few arcade versions over here, but the PS2 ones are japan only. Persoasanly, I like the game, I blew otu my knee in a trainign accident years ago and can no longer play DDR, pop n music was a good alternative.

Hey, it's MicroMan!

My friend has the Japanese PlayStation 2 versions of Pop'n Music, and that's why I'm hooked to them. He even built his own giant controller for them! I'd only imagine that they would butcher them by putting in crappy pop songs if it got released here. :roll:

I liked "Sonic Drift" (which was never originally released outside of Japan) better than "Sonic Drift 2". 8)

I used to play loads of ddr extreme, as well as itg 2. But they're not exactly "classic games" so I don't post about that here. I just don't find music games fun where you don't have to hit something hard. Stuff like beatmania.....bleh. I even got bored of guitar hero

Namco x Capcom is a cool game. My fiance has it, and I've watched him play it a few times. It's awesome.

As for DDR, well, it did make it to the US, actually. Just...in a highly bastardized form. I have the US versions of DDR Max, Max 2, Extreme (UGH UGH UGH WORST DDR EVER) and Extreme 2. Half of the songs are shit and the songs I like are scattered over all four games. I want to import the Japanese versions. :(

I also really, really want to play Ouendan. Sounds like awesomeness.

I would also love to be able to play some Super Robot Wars games, but I can't read enough Japanese yet.

Most of the other import titles that I like have made it here...eventually. Like, Hajime no Ippo: All-Stars was given a quiet US release sometime last year. Also, Gundam Vs. Zeta Gundam had a US release, I've just never seen it for sale anywhere. Plus, who wants to play that crap anyway? I saw some videos of it on Youtube and the dubbing makes me sick. (Yeah, I'm something of a sub elitist, so what? XD)
