Mmm(...)Gradius and Parodius,two of the best 2D shooters of all the time.It`s hard to decide,because both have a similar structure(...)I`ll pick Parodius coz you can play as Penta(or Pentarou)(And because of the cameos(...)And the wacky design of the levels)

Parodius is like Twin bee... I like Gradius but Salamander 2 is the bombdigity

"Oh, we laugh at this game! Gradius is fine, but this is nicer!" That quote pretty much says it all for me.

You have to admit, each game got better. I haven't played Sexy Parodius, but Gokujo Parodius! and Jikkyo Oshaberi Parodius! are superiorly decent. It's Gradius, but zany! Not to mention the vast amounts of Konami characters and references, it's like a Konami fanboys acid trip! They made a Gradius V, so why won't they make a new Parodius game? If they stopped concentrating on crap like Rengoku and Nanobreaker, they could get to work on it!

My favorite characters to use in all three games.

Parodius - TwinBee.
Parodius 2 - Kid Dracula/Dracula-Kun.
Parodius 3 - Soitsu. You might recognize that character and his equivalents on Yu-Gi-Oh cards.

Are you talking about Stinger? That game had a few verticle scrolling levels, as well as some horizontal. The other traditional TwinBee games are pretty much all Horizontal scrolling.

I should get my roommate in on this. He brought his nintendo DS out of collecting dust because apparently he found a schmup that's been released on it. In fact 95% of what I see him playing is some form of schmup. Then again it would be hard to get him away from the schmup forum.

A shame Mr. Bumpy's banned. His self-pwning posts will be missed.

I'm thinking of buying "Gradius" at a local video store, but I don't really know what it's like... :/

It's a horizontal-scrolling SHMUP (Shoot 'em up). You wouldn't like it. It's hard for your kind.
