Remember Dragon Warrior IV, the classic rare gem for the NES?

It is now updated for the Nintendo DS as "Dragon Quest IV Chapters of the Chosen" and it is coming to North American Shores on September 16, 2008!

The North American boxart looks INCREDIBLE!

No pre-order bonus has been anounced as of yet, but if you have any ideas on what it may be, share your ideas.

Square Enix has also announced remakes of V and VI, so be prepared for them too!

So far it looks like this, Final Fantasy IV, and Chrono Trigger will be the best RPG games of 2008 for the DS!

    Yes, me want!

IV and the Super Famicom games are the only ones I haven't played (although I do have I.II for the Super Famicom, but that's a remake), along with VII, but this is great! A trilogy of an amazing game series that's going to be brand new to me! :D
    Game... ovahhhhhhhhh!!!

Wow, MicroMan, you're actually aware about the awesomeness that was Dragon Quest IV, huh? It looks grandtastic.

PS: The character artwork on the cover looks similar to the PSX remake.

I also haven't played them, but I do have the first Dragon Warrior for the NES. The others are hard to find.

                Jawsome.

I'd be more excited, but I don't have a DS.

I can't wait for the Dragon Quest IV DS remake, but first I want to beat the first four Dragon Warrior games on my NES. I have I and II, I just need to get III and IV.

                    Buy one.

BTW, here are two videos to compare the NES and DS version.

                    NES: http://youtube.com/watch?v=YGvj_m5Btj4

                    DS: http://youtube.com/watch?v=yeGD_Lz-vlI

The same thing isn't going on in both of the videos, i'm comparing the graphics and music.

I'd buy one, but two things:

                      1. Lack of money.

                      2. I'm out of school, so I don't play portable games as much.

I usually play portable games at home, either on the Super Game Boy, Game Boy Player, or for the DS, just on the DS. Nothing wrong with that. :)

That sucks, your going to miss out on alot of good games this summer, but i'm sure you will get a DS if you really do want one. I'd have to say alot of the games that are coming out this summer are going to become the games of the year.

I play portable games alot, the only time I play them while in school is on the bus and while waiting for the bus. Sometimes I play them in the afternoon too.

This would be better news if it could work on the Game Boy Advance..

Dragon Warrior IV on NES was awesome, now I'll never get to play it again. Stupid DS.

actually you could buy one of those SD card readers for the gba that runs NES roms perfectly since the gba contains the NES processor (except for the gba micro) and then play dragon warrior 4 on that.

Honestly the gba has enough ports of classic games to keep me occupied. It's got ff4, ff6, mario 3, mario world, zelda link to the past, and it plays links awakening. And they're actually ports and not 3d remakes so you get close enough to the original experience. I'd much rather play this stuff than some sort of remake where they change the game so much that it's not the same thing anymore. Like what they did with mario 2 on the gba. And like what they're doing with a lot of these re-releases on the DS

It would actually be pretty cool if the Dragon Warrior NES games made it to the Classic NES Series for GBA.

The only thing I don't understand about this game is how it goes along in chapters, in one chapter your a character and you level up and everything, but when a new chapter starts, do you get a character with beginning stats?

The game has five chapters, the last one being the longest because it features you, the main character. Their stats remain the same or they get stronger when you meet 'em back up.

Actually, they did. Dragon Warrior I & II were included together in one game. They are played seperate, so you'd play Dragon Warrior, (or if you wanted) you could play Dragon Warrior II first. Dragon Warrior III was on its own.

They were for Game Boy Colour, but they work on GBA 8) I wish I knew who to contact about asking them to make Dragon Warrior IV for GBA...

Props? I figured everybody had a Super Game Boy, I've had mine since I can remember... ahh well, thanks. :)

Now see, it's ironic you ask that, because about last Saturday or Sunday I actually ordered a Japanese Super Game Boy 2 (I've been wanting to link to the auction but I lost the URL, and couldn't look it up in my history unless my dad logged in), and it should be coming any day now! :D It's from Japan, though, so it'll take a while, although a week is long enough methinks so I wouldn't be surprised if I got it today or next month. I've ordered from there numerous times and it's really unpredictable, one time I got my package in about two or three days!
                                        Game... ovahhhhhhhhh!!!
