Yep, as pointed out, this news is old. It's still a weird combination to have those of the Mortal Kombat universe vs those from DC comics.
Seems that Marvel vs DC would make more sense or an official Mortal Kombat vs Street Fighter game.

Wait a sec Liu Kang has now been confirmed so has Captain Marvel. Which DC villans do you think they'll have? I'd like to see a few more Batman villans and I hope Bizzaro is in it. he would be cool.

Nope! You think they're going to repeat the same mistake as they did with Mortal Kombat on Super Nintendo? They wouldn't do that.
Besides, even if they did, it'd be understandable. If MK VS. DC were to be gut-wrenching M-rated, Jack Thompson (as an example) would start blaming Superman for video game violence. Come on, man! DC's a family-friendly company, you think they're going to show Superman tearing heads off!? At least in the SNES version of MK, Scorpion could still burn people, so that's probably why they showed the Flash as a target for incineration!

The DC geros won't have fataliites but they will have brutalities. The villans will have fatalities
