It's just the quality of the picture. His hat is actually red like it's supposed to be. When you take a picture of a TV screen, it always seems to make it look weird.

I consider myself a pretty good gamer and for some insane reason which cant possibly be by chance i always get 15 jumps.....how is it that that happens? i beg of you the correct process to achieve this. i as well have done everything else. but 15? embarrassing. help me
15 is around where the pace of the jumps change. You have to also change the pace of hitting the Y button to match it. Basically, you want to be hitting the Y button at the EXACT moment the stars are flying out of the enemy when Mario jumps on them. When you first start, Mario's jumps are shorter, so you have to tap the Y button faster, and than it slows down as you go.
