Later this month, my friend and I are driving up north to Vancouver, Canada to attend "Video Games Live", which features a full orchestra playing famous tunes from different video games. Has anyone ever heard of it before?

They play Mario, Zelda, Sonic the Hedgehog, Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy, and several others. Sometimes they even have the "Video Game Pianist" at the show to play some music...the guy who became well known after he first appeared in an internet video playing the Super Mario Bros. theme blind folded on the piano. They are coming to Seattle in January, but my friend and I couldn't wait that long and decided to go up to Vancouver instead (plus neither of us have been up there for quite awhile). There's also another show like this one called "Play". It came to Seattle earlier this year, but I didn't hear anything about it, so I missed it.

Who has attended the VGL concert in 2007 with Koji Kondo as the special guest? It was Kondo who had been the musical director behind the tunes for Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda, and their respective sequels.

You don't think Koji Kondo is a big deal? I sure hope you're joking. He's made some of the most memorable video game themes of all time.
