A new update of the DS lite.

It looks good, but I'm not gonna upgrade. I just don't need one. Plus I'm not that much for the added features, and I would miss the GBA game slot. What do you think of it? And will you be upgrading?

Why couldn't they just allow us to play Game Boy and Game Boy Color games aside from the Game Boy Advance games? Sheesh!

Unless... they create a portable Shop Channel that'd allow us to download the games with DS Points. Games like Super Mario Land (GB), Super Mario Bros. Deluxe (GBC), and even Mario Clash (Virtual Boy.) Hmm! They should do that since they won't make a new Game Boy.

I agree with you, They will probably have some of those titles for the CG, CGC, and GBA on there, but it's totally sad that we can't use the older game we already have on it anymore. I wished you could even play the old GC/GBC game on the original DS.

I think it's just a lot less expensive for them to make with out the older game ports. Then they make money with the shop channel anyways.

I heard they're gonna have a feature simular to the Wii Shop channel called DSi shop where you download some DSiware. maybe they'll put some classic postible games from Game Boy, Game Gear, etc.

For that, the term "Wii points" would no longer be used but rather "Nintendo points".

That'd be awesome, being able to play something like Shining Force II: The Sword of Hajya on your DSi... without the fear of low battery life.

I think it would most likely be DSi points.

Because you would be able to use Wii points on the DSi.

No way man. They should make DSi Points by putting in "Achievements" in your DS games.

Ah yes they could certainly make DSi and Wii point interchangable, but I can also really see them doing it separately too, it just kinda makes since in a way, but we shall see once the time comes.

old news. wasnt there another thread about this?

the GBA slot will seem obsolete in the future anyway, so this is something i could look forward to: SDI card, internet browser built in...

and during that time gamestops can serve those who need to do pokemon transfers in the event we would Trade our DS lites for credit towards the DSi purchase.

I don't know why they keep wanting to make their stuff thinner. I feel like I'm gonna break this damn thing!

It can't be that old of news, it was just featured on the home page of my Yahoo browser today. I really don't know if there was a previous thread or not, I didn't see one.

Edit: okay just saw it was from Oct 1st I think, so maybe there was a previous thread? :?

I don't want an updated Nintendo DS if some of the games require use for the GBA slot.

I agree with you there. And I too am not upgrading. I just got my recent DS yesterday, and I would miss the GBA slot as well. Although I wonder how durable the DSi will be. It seems with each upgrade Nintendo makes to a handheld system. It gets more fragile. GBA SP. DS Lite. I'm good with my original blue DS thank you.

You do know the GBA slot was an extra feature, they didn't have to put that in to begin with. the DS is not a Game Boy, and therefore had no reason to be compatible with previous Game Boy cartridges. Too bad that extra feature spoiled people into wanting more.
