Most videro game comic books are made by Japan now, like Disgaea. For once, I'd liek a loose adaptation of Final Fantasy...12...made by some company, in the comedy genre.

I used to have these large Nintendo comic book-style things. It had a bunch of different stories in it... there were a couple of Mario stories, a Captain N story, and a Legend of Zelda story. I'm not sure how many of these were ever published, or if it was some kind of comic series, or if it were even published by Nintendo.

I still have one that's all Mario, though. It has a few different Mario-related stories in it.

At some point in the `90s there was an 8 part Street Fighter 2 miniseries. Supposedly Ryu entered the tournament to help these two orphans who run a restaurant on the man made island of Shad which is run by M.Bison. Apparently the people of the island had run on hard times after the gold rush on the island ended which wouldn't make a whole lot of sense if it was a man made island.

Basically the story seemed as though the writers were patching it together as they went along. I lost interest in it midway through.

I still have that. Somewhere. There was also a Mortal Kombat book. UDON still does a Street Fighter book too. They also did a Darkstalkers one.

I forget who made the one I was talking about. Supposedly the story was parts of a Japanese Manga and a lot of the dialogue had to be changed to the Western style of sentences being read left to right top to bottom as opposed to Japanese style right to left, bottom to top.

There's the Nintendo Comics System which was made by Valiant. It consists of comics featuring Super Mario Bros, The Legend of Zelda, Captain N The Game Master, Game Boy, Metroid, and Punch-Out. The Mario, Zelda, and Captain N comics sort of used the character personalities from their cartoon counterparts, but it's still sort of different.

I have The Best of Nintendo Comics System which includes select Nintendo comics, except Super Mario Bros was not included despite being on the front cover.

Link isn't putting his arm around Captain N's leg. Its clearly in front of it.

Around the time Resident evil 2 came out, some publisher released a series of monthly RE comic books. There were only 4, I bought the first 2 when they came out and I got the last two off ebay not too long ago.

The first comic is a re-telling of the events in the mansion and the second comic tells the story of RE 2. The rest have new stories that center around Raccoon City, one even involving bad-ass Barry Burton.

I also really enjoy Nintendo Power's Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past comic that was a 12 part series in each issue of Nintendo Power the year LTTP was released. It had some great artwork and I really liked the bittersweet ending.

A really old one is the comic included with each of the Atari Swordquest games. Besides being a comic, some pages had hidden clues used to solve the puzzles in the games.

Aside from the obvious, seems most I come across are Japanese series. Some of the ones that I've read and/or liked or have come across are:

                                  Tales of Symphonia
                                  Kingdom Hearts
                                  Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories
Kingdom Hearts 2 (I read some of it)
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (The one from Nintendo Power)
The Legend of Zelda: Triforce of the Gods
The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages
The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons
The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Plus
The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker - Link's Log Book
The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
                                  .hack//Tasogare no Ude wa Densetsu

I was going to mention the Pokemon manga, but...I don't think that counts, 'cept for maybe the series that includes Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, Gold, Silver, etc.

That was my least favorite comic LoZ adaptation out of the ones I've come across. I prefer Triforce of the Gods to it.
