Who Collected Beast War Figures
I'm a huge fan of the G1 series, and I have a pretty sizeable collection. But I really... and I mean REALLY... don't like Beast Wars.
If others like it, that's fine. I liked it much better when only a small fraction of the transformers were animals. Optimus being an 18 wheeler appeals to me a lot more than him being an Ape.

The animal transformers don't do much for me either, although I did like the show.
I haven't actually liked any of the 3D Transformer series.
I mean, it was bad enough when it was stiff 2D animation, but at least you never had to worry about clipping and them moving around like they've got no mass (like this new cybertron series thats going on, where they just fling around tons of metal without any aparent momentum).

Optimus being an 18 wheeler appeals to me a lot more than him being an Ape.
I was kind of young when Transformers came on the air, so I missed a lot of it. Beast Wars brought me back into it, and if you actually watch the show without letting nostalgia and "TRUKK NOT MUNKY" cloud your mind, you'll find that it is the most well-written, animated and entertaining Transformers cartoon ever created. Sure G1 was the origional, but let's be honest; the animation was horrible, it was just another cartoon-to-sell-toys project, so the writing was unimaginative and full of plotholes.
Plus, the Beast Wars toys ushered in the ball-joint, which has revolutionized the figures. Sure, the first wave (like the first season) was a bit rusty, but the 2nd and 3rd of each were phenominal.

The beast wars show was good but I am a g1 toy collector. The toys were more diverse and they have more combiners, features etc.

the desing is not perfect....far from it
althought the articulation on bots has improved a great deal, see any alternator........they have along way to go to catch up to toy biz'z marvel legeds 50+ points of articulation :roll:

NO.
If I want a super-flexible Ken doll, maybe I'll get one of those Marvel figures. But given the choice of that or a real toy of a robot that turns into a wooly mammoth with rocket launchers and has a tank mode, I'll stick to the better toy. The one that turns into stuff.
