Just curious as to what collections everyone around here has. It can be comic books or "manga" or graphic novels. Just put up what you have.

Well, lets just say I have over 20+ years of collecting and 5,000+ comics. I'd have to say the pride of my collection is the complete Marvel Transformers run with the mini-series. The runner up is my Marvel era G.I. Joe run.

I have heaps of comics, I started collecting back in '89.

The titles that I'm currently buying:
Street Fighter II, Lullaby, Fables, 100 Bullets, Lucifer, Teen Titans, Green Lantern, Seven Soldiers, Infinite Crisis, Runaways, Cable/Deadpool, X-Factor, New Excalibur, Generation M, Son of M, Supreme Power, Fantastic Four/Iron Man: Big In Japan, um... I think that's all... I also buy heaps of random stuff all the time.

I've been collecting comics since 1987. Right now I collect Revelation, Fables, 100 Bullets, Ghost Rider, Y the Last Man, and Punisher vs. Bullseye.

I also collect cartoons from the 70's 80's and 90's.

I'm mostly a Marvel fan, but I also collect TMNT and Star Wars comics.

The titles I'm collecting at the moment are: Silver Surfer (The 80's series- Vol 3), The Mighty Thor, New Mutants, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Warlock & the Infinity Watch.

I don't really buy current comics, mostly because of the cost ($5 or more cover price on comics in Australia), but also because I can't really find anything I like these days.

The main reason I decided to ask this, was because of my father. Recently, he found one of his old Fantastic Four comic books from the 60s, so I was curious if anyone here collected anything like that as well.

Anywho, I don't have many comic books or manga series. I've read more than I actually own it seems, and for the record, I only include "manga" because it's nothing but the Japanese's word for comic anyway.

I actually stopped collecting years ago, but when I was a kid I bought comics all the time. I started about 1978, so my collection spans from that time until about 1983. I have most of the original Marvel G.I. Joe series. But, mostly random titles. I do own alot of D.C. titles from the '60's that I inherited.

That's about it for my monthly collecting. I'm actually way down from what I once was at when I worked at a comic shop. 70+ titles a month. I literally got paid in comics.

Some of the collections you all mentioned is pretty cool. Just wish I would've had the opportunity to get into it. I was just telling my mother, how I sometimes wish I grew up in her time period so I could read the comic books they had back then.

Out of curiosity, do any of you remember how much they cost? You know, compared to now.

Well, I don't remember this, because I wasn't alive in the 70s, but Marvel Comics changed their cover price from 30c to 35c at some point in 1977. I know this because the first four issues of Star Wars have variant 30c/35c covers due to Marvel testing the market.

After that there were fairly consistent price hikes throughout the 80s and 90s, until today when we're paying around ten times the 30c of the 70s.

I actually have a few archie comics from maybe the 60's or 70's that cost I believe about 10 cents in their day.

I can remember yrs ago when my family was about to move we had a yard sale a few days before. My dad put his comic book collection in the yard sale. I can't remember what all he had but they were all from the 50's early 60's. I wish he kept em I would of liked to of gone through em growing up and even now.

I used to love Guardians Of The Galaxy. I'd love to rebuy all the 90s stuff that I used to own but they don't have any of it at my comic store (which is so crap these days). I've been enjoying buying old issues of Marvel Team-Up and Marvel Two-In-One though.

The average comic costs me around NZ$8, which is crazy since less than 10 years ago I was paying NZ$3-4 on average.

Almost have a full run G.I. Joe. And I mean FULL. From the first marvel issue to the recent issues of G.I. Joe: America's Finest and Snake-Eyes: Declassified. Missing last Marvel issue and some of the European Missions, as well as some of those TV Guide sized G.I. Joe Magazines.

I'm going for the full run of Punisher. I have all of the recent volumes of Punisher and one-shots, I have all the past one-shots except for Punisher Kills the Marvel Universe and Blood on the Moors. Missing a dozen of the first volume of issues. But I have the Punisher Magazines and the Marvel Presents magazine that features his first full comic story. When I get the money, I'll go for his first appearance and so forth. Oh yeah, I have the first 5 issue mini-series as well.

I was never interested in comics until after 9/11. I'm a very patriotic guy and I guess I was looking for a hero to really kick some ass. The Captain America 9/11 story arc really took a hold of me, and I've been obsessed ever since.

I've got a couple hundred Captain America comics, including his first Marvel issue. I'm not interested in completing the full run because that will involve ungodly amounts of money, especially for his first series in the late 30's and 40's. But from his 9/11 story arc to today, I haven't missed an issue.

But another comic that I collected with a passion was Call of Duty, the comics about the NYFD, NYPD, and the NY paramedics. Have all the issues.

Sgt. Rock seemed interesting but each issue was minimum $15.

I've got the first 10 issues of transformers, as well as the Dreamwave run and soon the IDW run.

I've been collecting the Ultimates too, have every issue so far including the off-shoot story arcs about the coming of Galactus.

Then I have a couple large stacks of random stuff. Everything from a couple Sgt. Rock issues to Super-Pro (oh man that was hilarious) to... well I have A LOT or random stuff.

I loved the COD books about that one cop. Chuck Dixon is a great writer, and the art was awesome.

I can't wait for the final Gah-Lak-Tus miniseries that's coming out this year. I'm a huge Silver Surfer fan, so to finally see Ultimate Silver Surfer (even though I don't really like the Ultimate Universe) will be awesome.
