I meant the show. There are hundreds of MST3K episodes, most you can buy, but some for one reason or another you cannot get anymore. This is mainly because the producers of the movie they mocked in the particular episode refused to allow it to be used by Best Brains (the company that produced MST3K). At 20 bucks a pop, I simply cannot afford to buy all the MST3K's that I desire, so I, like many MST3K fans, resort to leeching off other fans of the show. Its kind of like an informal global fraternity of witty nerds.
My dad got me into MST3K when he would stay up really late drinking and watching TV. I would sometimes come downstairs at night and see him watching this bizarre show with puppets making fun of the worst B-movies known to man. Since that time, I've grown up with a sincere love of all things MST3K. To this day, I like to use it as a barometer to place people's tastes. Its like when John Cusack's character in High Fidelity says that you can tell something about a person's personality by the kinds of bands he or she likes. For me, if you like MST3K, the Pixies, and/or Mr. Show... you're all right in my book. I don't hold it against anyone if they don't like these things, but if you do, it kind of sets off a little signal in my brain telling me that this person and I will get along famously.
