Hi All:)

What does MINT mean for Action Figures?

On eBay and other sites it says:

"Action Figures are not MINT, but they are in good shape"

and these toys are not in their packages

How can they be MINT if they are out of their packages?:)

Could someone explain the meaning of MINT to me?:)

Thank you:)

Mint means they're in perfect condition. If they're out of the package, it means theres nothing physically wrong with the figure and it comes with all of the accessories. If its mint in the package/on the card, that means the theres no bends or anything is wrong with the packaging. Its just a grading system.

What DS said, a flawless, unplayed with figure. Alot of people will argue that a figure is no longer mint once its been opened.

Well, I see it as two kinds of mint. Yeah, the value does go down you open the figure or toy, but that doesn't make the product any less perfect.

It means exactly what it says. Seems to me to be pretty self explanitory.

I collect mint, loose GI Joe's from the 80's (82-88/89).

I'm pretty picky about condition....."mint" has to be stiff joints, new paint, new screws...basically...it looks like it just came from a package. I'll take one or two little imperfections (its hard to find some figures 100% mint, the paint can be very delicate and flake, rub off.....some of the Cobra soldiers can be hard to find with 100% intact cobra insignias). Or guys like silver pads, grand slam...those guys can be very tough.

So it might differ slightly for different figures.

Some people put that word in their auction listing just to draw attention and entice the new collectors. You have to look into the seller’s credibility and make sure that they're not using the word loosely.

mint is basically when you buy the item... dont do anythin with it except place the damn thing in your display case and stare at it all day

People always like to collect something precious that they cannot see it often such as the limited editions of the action figures. The game character action figures with purely handworks and exquisite outlooks have been attracting more and more people even though they are not playing the games. Some people may not get full satisfactions with the action figures which are selling in the recent markets. They want to get the particular one for their private collection. Let’s see what types of action figures are collected by the experienced collectors by click here: http://www.acgon.com/index/Action-Figures_39 .
