Does anyone remember those neat little computer-generated animation shorts that played in-between shows as time fillers back on YTV (when it was good)? They were called 'Short Circuitz', and I loved them back then, and now I'm itching to watch em again, but alas they stopped showing them years ago. Does anyone have any videos of these around? I'd be a very happy guy if someone were to find some.

Yes! Those things were great, though I remember getting sick of them pretty quickly after they showed the same ones over and over. Maybe I'm wrong, but didn't they originate from the same studio that did "ReBoot"? Seemed they had kinda the same look.

Short Circuitz! Yeah, the good ol' days. My favourites were All Shapes and Sizes (the one with the juggler), Gourmet Records (catchy music!), and Down the Road (the one with the song "rollin' down the highway, making real good time, rollin' down the highway gives me peace of mind...)

You can see many of the Short Circuitz shorts on several VHS tapes. The children's shorts (such as the with inflatable-ring duck and the edible records) on on the VHS Imaginaria, the more interesting shorts (like the one with the bird and the fish) and can be seen on The Mind's Eye. I checked one of the tapes out from a library and it was quite a trip!

Yep - all Short Circuitz was was (was was?) clips from Imaginaria and The Mind's Eye. YTV bought the rights to show 'em, and chopped them up into the Short Circuitz segments. Both were available on VHS and Laserdisc, there may even be some DVDs floating around out there somewhere... Most of the animation from those was from the early-mid 80's, waaaayyyy before Reboot for the guy/guyette that was asking. The original animation was actually several completely unrelated segments by several completely unrelated companies.

My favorite of the Mind's Eye vids was Beyond the Mind's Eye - which featured an original soundtrack by Mr. Miami Vice Theme himself, Jan Hammer. Actually the third one, "Gate to the Mind's Eye" was cool too, featuring music by Thomas Dolby. The animation in all of them is quite dated now, but I love that "old-school" CG stuff.

Hell, TRON is still one of my all-time fave movies (and yes, I know that the majority of what we see in TRON isn't actually CG at all, but what there was was (was was?) quite cool and still is).

Well that's enough of my tangent-filled ramble for today. :D
