    Bananaman on DVD

Bananaman is out now on DVD.

Besides it being a UK cartoon I doubt anyone would have any avaliable episodes to download.

    David.

Bananaman I think was also from the 90's. It was based on a UK comic strip, so it's one of ours to begin with Reaper!

And since this was a more North American friendly site and it was a brit who asked, I helped them, though I was shocked that they didn't realise it before, the DVD's were released a couple of years ago?

No, It was definetly the 80's it was one of the very first cartoons I ever watched on Nicklodeon (when it came here).

Gotta love friendly competition though, At this rate EVERY 80's show will be released ond DVD in our lifetime. :D

Ah yes I forgot US Nickelodeon likes to import our toons, too bad they never imported anything from Filmfair or Martin Gates Productions!

I haven't seen Bananaman myself, but I suppose it was released in the 80's, I was more of a CITV person, this was on CBBC.

Count Duckula's first series just came out on DVD here in the UK, as well as a special 30th Anniversery box set for Danger Mouse. Both were produced by Cosgrove Hall and one of the best ITV companies there was; Thames Television, in the good old days before Thacther and Carlton Television had their way!

As far as I know those 2 shows were quite popular in the states, I'm unsure if the US imported anything else from Cosgrove Hall.

Oh check out this Cosgrove Hall fansite; http://www.nyanko.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/chamb/

Very nice site, David. I'm sure that a lot of those were on TV here I just don't remember them.

I do remember the Thames logo though that was one of my favorite. 8)

I suppose you mean the 1968-1989 ident using the River Thames. A true British classic.

The Cosgrove Hall site is by the same woman who also has a Dreamstone site.

Oh www.tv-ark.org.uk has got plenty of multimedia from Thames and just UK TV in general with some stuff from international TV.

(This is probably going to be one of my lasts posts).

They also ran "The Tomorrow People," but I can't think of any other Brit imports on Nick -- in those early days, it was mainly Canadian shows. My recollection is that the Bananaman shorts generally ran during "DangerMouse" and "Count Duckula."
