Does anybody remembers the TV commercial for Empire Carpets? It was originally in Chicago and it still remains today and it's all over the place including New York City. I found a few good TV commercials from Empire Carpets back in the 80's. It had the catchy jingle like "588-2300 EMPIRE!" I've seen it during WABC-TV Eyewitness News where they show a TV commercial for Empire Carpets, and then the jingle says "800" added right next to the "588" in the toll free number. I want you to see this classic gem for Empire Carpets.

Empire Carpets - Carpet Myth #1
Current Empire Commercial - with "800" number added to the jingle. That is not retro, but the jingle is still a classic.
Empire Carpets and Other Commercials - The first commercial is on that clip.

The Empire ads with the "800" have shown up on TV in Toledo for quite some time (used to have a traditionally drawn end bit, but it's not a crappy CGI-type).

The spokesman doesn't seem to age, either!
