Hi, these two movies have been bothering me for a long time. I have attempted to find them numerous times over the past twelve years but all unsuccessfully.
The first was a movie I suspect may have been Australian. It's just a gut feeling though, one based on the tone and feel of some Aussie movies I have seen in the past. It involved a man and woman living in a caravan in a desert, the whole plot revolved around their lives there. Now the man was not human. I cannot say what he was specifically, but he was silver. He was as a man in form but silver and a little quirky. I saw this movie the first time around 1998. I caught a glimpse of it again a year or two later. I believe it to have been a 90s movie, perhaps early 90s, but that is just as I recall it.
The second movie is one I didn't see completely. I regrettably had to go somewhere part of the way through, but always wanted to see it again. It involved a post-apocalyptic world in which a man was traveling around in a type of jeep alone. He eventually encounters a girl/woman whom he helps. At some point they are separated after being captured and he is put in a sort of arena where he has to fight for his life. I saw this no no later than late 99 to early 00 and definitely had the vibe of a 90s movie. Do note that this was not Mad Max, another person was insistent that this was it, he was wrong lol.
I know some of these details are a little vague but I would greatly appreciate any help in tracking them down. Thanks for your time.

I've asked elsewhere too but nobody seems to know what it is! I saw this on TV twice in the late 90s in the UK, so I didn't think it would be that obscure. It's bee niggling at me for so many years!
