The Mumbler
It was a cartoon short late 70s/early 80s I believe but my memory is REALLY foggy on this. It was about some "tribble-like" animal that mumbled. I want to say it was purple but I'm not sure. For some reason I get a "Peabody and Sherman" vibe when I try to think about it but I'm pretty sure it wasn't related.
Does anyone remember this?

I asked my brother and he remembered more…
They wanted it to steal secrets from a competitor about how many digits their odometer was going to use....(for a car or something...forget that detail.) But you would feed it crackers and it would tell you what it heard. And they found out how many digits the competitor was going to use so they were going to add one more to theirs.

I went to the trouble of creating this account just to respond to this almost 4 year old post. One of my ferrets reminds me of the mumbler. I loved the mumbler and wanted one. Did it have something to do with spying? Why is the post the only reference to the mumbler so far that I’ve found?
Maybe the spy concept I’m confusing with Mumbly. But I definitely remember a small animal called The Mumbler. I thought it may have something me to do with Sesame Street or schoolhouse rock? My memory is so fuzzy on this.
