Did any of you ever get into a fight at school?

I remember in the 6th grade during lunch, this kid in my class kept bugging me. Finally we get in line, and the situation continues to pushing. He then tried to front kick me (no joke) I caught his foot, he punched me in the eye 2ce, and I punched him in nose. It got broken up after that, but we both went to the office and got sac (inschool suspension) for the day, but since he started it, he got 2 days.

One time in college, I had a class with this real snobby nerdy guy. I had like 2 classes with him, and would try to talk to him about games and such, but he was a real unfriendly guy (later found out from a friend who went 2 high school with him he was always punked there also). So one day in my algebra class, I was asking him something about an assignment, he started being real prickish and finally i had enough of it. I told him to stop being such a jerk about things, he got real arrogant trying to brush me off. I started cussin at him, and I stood up in front of his desk. He looked away, but kept talking down to me. I called him out and finally he stood up. I got in his face, but by then 2 of my friends pulled me away and helped calm me down.

Any of you guys ever have experiences?

Same here. There has only been one person I fought from school that didn't become my friend afterwards. He was a real low life prick and was nothing like me.

I was really skinny and wasn't very strong, so I backed down from a lot of fights from 7th - 9th grade. For whatever reason I always used to have trouble with kids way stronger than me. It didn't help that people would gang up on me and side with the other kid because they were more like them. Even the teacher would side with the other kids and the kids used that to their advantage. This was in private school though and not when I went back to public school in the 8th grade.

It reached a point where I was letting everyone walk on me, even so called friends. It was a really fucked up time in my life. I got really depressed and that depression turned to anger. I made friends with some of the more tougher kids and I learned how to handle myself better being around them. I started going off on people that would give me a hard time and found most people back down when you stand up to them. Those that didn't I just fought the best I could. I lived around some really bad people and sometimes walking away was the best for my safety.

I have not been in a fight in years. I have too much to loose now as fighting can get you arrested in the adult world.

I never got into a fight when I was in school, or practically anytime in my life, since I was never a fighter. I've always believed in solving differences peacefully. If someone started coming at me in a hostile or threatening fashion, I would always back off or even run. Many times I've been called a "wuss" or a "pussy" even by one of my friends because I'm not a fighter.
Anyway, back when I was in school, most fights between kids were the good old fashioned fistfights...where the only weapons were fists and sometimes feet. Today when kids fight, it's knives, guns or other "foreign" (and potentially deadly) weapons.

I got into a couple of fights, but nothing really serious. Never any black eyes or broken noses. Mostly just me and the other person tackling each other and trying to throw the other one down in the dirt.

Quite a few. With students and staff. Keep in mind, this is before schools went all pussy. You could fight the teachers and stay in the school.

There was one time I fought my next door neighbor at school. I got him in a headlock, punched him in the eye, which shattered the glass. He had glass lenses.

Not really but there was this one time in 7th grade, when I was trying to finish up for the day and the kid at the locker next to mine was like chilling there with his friends and wouldn't move the door to his locker so I could get into mine. Instead of calmly asking him to move, I pushed the door of his locker out of the way and in the process I kind of squashed his hand a bit.

It was kind of a jerk move on my part, but I was kind of in a hurry to get to this after school assembly for this event to help rake leaves around town for senior citizens. As a reward for my hasty move, I was quickly belted in the mouth by this douche bag and since I don't like confrontations and I didn't want to fight, I just walked off and ducked into the library which was across the hallway from my locker for a minute to chill. I just stood in there for a minute and then after while, I poked my head out of the library to see if he was gone and sure enough he was.

So then, I went to my locker and grabbed my stuff and then I went to the Boys bathroom just down the hallway to look in the mirror and see if this kid had caused me any permanent damage mostly because he hit me kind of hard. Luckily, my lip was fine but it was a little red. And because I wasn't a total pussy and since it was kind of my fault in the first place and no teachers saw the incident and since I didn't want to make the whole stupid thing bigger than it was, I didn't tell anyone and I just went on my way. Looking back on the whole situation, I think I was the bigger man.

Not many real fights, I'm a big guy and my size has been my protection. But I'm from a time when school fights usually resulted in a note to your parents. Today, schools are way over-the-top in dealing out punishments to students.

Yes a few times. My school was academically competitive though it was basically full of mid/low income students. Yah the tipical bad stuff going on around unfortunately.

I always love geeky stuff but also physically adept for sports... thats why I took Kenpo Karate/Aikido for a few years. Still practice sometimes to this day.

I agree. They did a story on TV here on how many elementary students were getting fined. When I was in elementary school we just got paddled. When I was in middle school fighting got you a couple of days off. By high school it was 3 days off, 10 days ISS and a $250 fine. To be fair things were getting out of control in the early 90s and the schools had to start cracking down. However they have gone overboard on it.

In grade 6 there was a guy that tried to start shit with me all year and for a long time I didn't do anything about it. Finally near the end of the school year I thought 'this is stupid, I'm way bigger than this kid and just ignoring this whole thing hasn't worked. If he wants to get into an unfair fight, so be it. I'll show how pointless this is.' And I did.

Pretty much all my fights were verbal. I only got physical once in middle school, and that was during a period when I wasn't on good medication. One time in high school, I told a fellow student that I didn't like him. I thought I could be friends with him, but he was rather bullying. After I told him that, I went back to listening to what my teacher said. Little did I know that I was going to be getting quite a kick that day...To be specific, that student gave me a boot to the back that knocked me to the ground. I didn't fight back, though. I just got back in my seat. I wasn't about to get physical with this kid.

Many of the school districts here have their own police department. The school calls them when they think it is necessary and the cop will write them a ticket. The parents have to go to court if they want to fight it. They even fine kids for cussing while talking to a friend.

I got in a little scuffles when I was in Elementary to Highschool but nothing bad just disagreements.I train in mma at Westide Jiu Jitsu and have been there awhile and even with all my training I wouldn't pick a fight because people now a days are so quick to pull a weapon.

Any physical fights for me were relegated to a punch or a slap, not much else. And the teachers always looked the other way when I did it because they knew whoever I was doing it to deserved it. I did get in trouble though for biting someone and spitting in someone's face. I don't regret the second one, it was satisfying. This jerk named Mark grabbed me by the hair when I ignored him.

I got picked on a lot, and looking back, I don't understand why. I was deemed quiet, but I had a lot of friends. Getting picked on by girls was one thing, it was usually the short angry ones who were jealous of everyone, but the things the boys used to do to me were inexcusable.

wow, and I thought it was bullshit being forced to write lines for telling one of my classmates to shut up (he wouldn't stop bugging me so I had to speak up)
