The worst store I've ever been to is K-Mart. Their selection was terrible! They closed down a lot of their stores. In my neck of the woods, there's only one left. I'm glad we only shopped there a few times. Meijer used to be my favorite grocery store. I still like it a lot, but their selection of non-produce items has gone way downhill. Their toy selection is terrible! And they don't have much of a DVD and CD selection. What are the worst stores you've ever been to?

K-Mart has really declined in the past ten years, but for me, it's Abercrombie and Fitch, hands down. Loud, blaring music, overpriced clothing, those stupid guys in nothing but swim trunks and flip flops, people following you everywhere (to the point where they chase/scare you out of the damn store) and all the other shit just makes it an unpleasant experience. Whenever I think of that store, I think of a saying of a girlfriend of mine: "People who don't shop at A&F are poor. People who do shop at A&F are racist."

K-mart wasn't so bad when I was growing up. Mine had a HUGE cafeteria in it and I always wanted to go in there. Plus they had a Slush Puppie dispenser with all the flavors, along with pretzels and everything. That was the place to go when I was little hanging out with my grandparents. When we would go, we would also head to the flowers they had during Spring and Summer. I also use to play on the playsets they had out for demos.

After my mamaw passed, I didn't see any real reason to go. But you are right princess, it has declined over the years.

Worst store I've been to was Lane Bryant and Old Navy. I was bigger so I had to shop there (LB) but the thing is, I couldn't find any clothes that would fit me (too big) and I couldn't go to any other store (too small).
Old Navy sucks with clothes. The only time you get to wear them is when you pulled them out of the shopping bad. Once you washed them, they were too small. Plus the only thing they had was the flip flops which I loved. Plus the clothes smelled sour and fishy.

Having done inventory in the past, I've been to some shitty stores. There's a chain called Xpect Discount that's just scary. And a lot of the dollar stores are terrible, too. We have "pet names" for them like "Dollar Bin." But they're like Wal-Mart, they can be good or bad.

There was one discount store that I can't remember the name of that was just depressing and not well maintained because it took me 3 hours to count one aisle of stuff. Makes me wonder who shops at these kinds of places. They might as well be Good Will stores.

I completely agree on the Abercrombie and Fitch mention. American Eagle is pretty unbearable as well.

Feel awkward going into hot topic with my daughter, does that count?

                      Yeah....

Hot Topic use to be pretty decent until all the bullshit of a pretty girl or emo walking in there crying because they didn't have Morrisey on a t-shirt. It just went down hill from there. I saw a girl in there with 5 inch heals and a pencil skirt trying to find some eye makeup from the Twilight movie.

                      WTF?

When I use to go in there, it was Tripp pants with the chains and straps, corsets that were pretty cute, hardcore music playing, piercings and bumper stickers of bands.

I only go into Hot Topic to check out their retro cartoon shirts. It does feel weird around most of the shoppers who are dressed like vampires when you're dressed like a normal person.

You know I'm getting old. I used to think Hot Topic was cool even though I really wasn't their target group. Now I just find it silly.

I find most of the athletic stores suck around here. They usually have a bunch of young ghetto kids working in them with attitude problems.

I hate Abercrombie and Fitch (or should I say Bitch) because one salesperson said I was too fat and ugly for their clothes, and I'm a fucking size 6. I told that woman to fuck off.

Mystic, this is slightly off topic but I remember looking at your picture on your profile a few days ago after you had said you had worked really hard to get in shape to join the Military. Hearing you talk about having to shop at Lane Bryant and being to big for other stores and thinking about where you are now, is inspiring.

a lot of hobby stores I have been to are very messy and unorganized. Top two are Happy Hobby in Milwaukee WI, where a women and man came out of the back room pretty much naked, saw i was in the store, ran back, came out a few minutes later, dude left, and girl proceded to hit on me. I use to go there as a kid but never again, partly because I dont live there but even on vacation, won't go there. The place was very dusty and messy.

There is one here in Fayetteville that I have a love hate relationship with. On the one hand they have everything, even a few train in gauges you don't see anymore. On the other hand, it's litraly wall to wall boxes stacked floor to ceiling, hard to move around in and on't bother looking, just ask for help and they know where the stuff is. But still, its a mess.

Same here. What bugs me a lot are the goofy hours they keep. I also hate when you go into some where they have a little bit of everything but not enough. Like they'll have one shelf devoted to model railroad stuff, one devoted to model cars, one devoted to Magic The Gathering and so on. All they're really good for is if you need something like glue, paint, or a magazine. If you're looking for a specific model kit or something go elsewhere.

Limited Too - *Shudder* I am NEVER going into this store ever again and I regret ever stepping in this store. I do not know what I was thinking.
K-Mart - Okay as a kid, but now, hardly worth going into. The DVD and Video Game selection at my area is abysmal (titles you can get cheaper anywhere else).
