Anybody remember Furbies, those creepy little robotic bird toys from the 90s? My parent got one for my sister and I when we were little and at first we thought they were cool, but then we kind of started to get freaked out by them because they'd never shut up and we couldn't find an "off" switch so we just had to wait for the batteries to die. They were pretty cute though, but creepy at the same time(for a little kid anyway. I not so sure I'd be creeped out now that I'm older.)

Furbies sucked. I had one that was possessed. Damn thing sounded like satan and it was always trying to grab knives out of the kitchen. it would always stare at me, muttering anti semitic comments while I'd sleep. It was a real pest.

I still have my Furby, he doesn't work anymore though. He's actually chilling on my shelf right now.

Those things looked scary. I wonder how they were kids toys.

Yep! Someone nearly trampled my mom in the process of grabbing a Furbie for my sister the year they came out, they were the Cabbage Patch/Tickle Me Elmo of that year. In 2003 they couldn't seem to GIVE them away at K B Toys. I saw them marked down to 7 bucks and the same ones would be on the shelf for an entire year. Now I see them on amazon for like 30 again. It's weird.

Yeah I remember them. I don't know why I thought they were so cool back then but now I think they're just plain creepy. I have 3 of them right now (my first one doesn't work anymore) and I recently put batteries in one of my Furbys and I can't believe how annoying they are and I didn't realize that when I was little.

Here is one reason why Furbies are demonically possessed. I laughed my ass off seeing how "cursed" this video was and how it spoofed such paranormal reality shows like Ghost Hunters and Paranormal State.

Please note that in the description of the video, it was recorded back in 2002.

I even found a video of a prank call concerning a posessed Furby given as a gift to a 14 year-old boy from his father after he lost a ton of weight. The father was calling a local toy store where he bought the Furby and told the manager how it gave death threats to him and his son. It was also funny as hell!

I was a senior in high school when Furbies became all the rage for kids. My parents actually bought one for me as a graduation present. Yes, us high schoolers at the time got a kick out of them too :P

I loved Furby when the things first came out. I kind of got into the whole robot pet thing. I'm still into it but just dog ones these days. I could care less about Furby. Poo-Chi, a robot dog from the same era is where it's at.
The problem with Furbys is the things did not know when to shut up. They'd get started and they'd just yammer on like idiots until you either took the batteries out or smashed it with a hammer. There was no off switch. They'd only shut up when they were good and ready, the problem being that you were usually ready for them to shut up long before they were.

Was it out of the window of a 30-story building? Wishful thinking.

Hope so. Otherwise it will reincarnate as a half-baked Pokemon. We don't want that.

I used to have two of them. They were so annoying that my mother told me to get rid of them. So I took them to the rifle range and by the time everybody was finished shooting at them, I was only able to find one battery cover and one eyeball. There was some cheering when we were finished. :D
