I did a search and found a post on here on CONSTRUX. Anybody remember these toys? THose things ruled.

I can remember figuring out how to build that remote controlled robot just by watching the commercial over and over again. Pretty good for a 6-year old. I bet I wouldn't be able to do that today.

Anyone remember "Construction Company" as well? IT was a building set like the LEGO, but the set had a green plastic screwdriver you used to fasten the pieces together. The starter set also came with a plastic hardhat. I'll try to find pictures.

Construx were pretty cool. I got a set of those things for Christmas one year. Played with them all day and night.

Robotix was another awesome building set.

Construx were my favotire toy from the 80's. They were simply so much fun, and you could actually PLAY with construx whereas with Legos, all you did was build something and wait for it to break and then build it again. Construx held up even if you dropped them down the stairs, well, for the most part. The purple Construx alien was pure evil, wherewas the yellow contstrux spaceman could do no wrong. What was up with the burly Construx construction men? I never cared much for them, and they often ended up as henchmen for the purple alien or wingmen for the yellow spacemen.

I was having a hard time remembering the name of these construction toys, but I figured that out... Robotix.

But the set I had consisted primarily of the #6 thru 12 connectors which can be seen here.

The set I had also had connectors that were, IIRC, at least twice as long as the #9's. They also had Lego-type studs on a few places on the connectors.

It came with several very detailed cannons that, IIRC, attached to the Lego-like connection studs.

Does anyone know which set this was, or if it even fell under the Robotix umbrella or if it?

I remember having a Capsela set. Seems like there were lots of these types of construction toys.

I remember wanting Capsela every year for Christmas. One of the few toys I never got. I kind of remember playing with it once and thinking, "Eh... not as great as I thought it would be". But they sure made it look cool... especially when they made things you could put in water.

I too always wanted a Capsela set for Christmas. One in particular that I begged for was a remote controlled robot set.

Today I have a large box of them as well as Technic Legos, Robotix, Construxs pieces that I use to for building simple robots. They are still tons of fun to play with.

btw, another good building set was Zacks.
