Just a random thought.
Remember the "books" you could get that would let you read until you got to a decision, and it was "To go left, turn to page 73, to turn right, goto page 6"?

I can't remember the name, but there was one that I remember from when I was little. It had several differant color keys you need to find to get through obsticals, a hedge maze that if you didn't go through just right would attack you, and finally a tower with a potion in it that you had to pick what to do with it that would either restore everything to the way it was supposed to be, or send you back to the start.

Dang, haven't thought of that book in years...

Only one that I ever did had to do with shrinking down and entering a person's blood stream to fix something in 'em.

Hmm I do remember one called "The Mystery of Chimney Rock"....I acquired a bunch of them from my cousins when they moved out and grew up, hopefully there still in storage.

But those books were fantastic :)

They were big when I went to grade school. I musta read everyone that the library had and I am not a big reader. I always used to cheat. I would turn to a page and if I didn't get the story I wanted I go back and try the alternate page. They were really cleaver books, kids that didn't like to read liked them because they were interactive.

I love those books! Some of the ones I remember reading:

You are a Kung-fu Master

I used to love those books, I would cheat to, by keeping my fingers in place of where I was and seeing what consequences my choices would have. I would then go to the next choice, next thing I know all my fingers are in the book and I am changing pages with my tongue.

I still have a whole mess of those. I remember I used to read them straight through, simply because the introduction page told me not to.

I had some that had something to do with a space academy for faster than light travel or something. I never really got into them. I always jumped around checking both scenarios because I was always dying one way or another.

I only had one based on norse mythology where this boy has to travel to midgar or something

I used to read these all the time. Had several of the CYOA series, another one was Intergalactic Spy, and had a ton of the Zork books. I remember when the Weekly Reader book list came out I would always get a CYOA type book. Think I still have one or two around here somewhere... I still suck at them and have to cheat.

I had a Jurassic Park choose your own adventure book (and still do somewhere). You found yourself on the Island with the power out and the dinosaurs loose, just like in the movie. And what did you have to do? Escape without getting killed of course!

Oh yeah...I also used to have some of the Goosebumps choose your own adventures, but I forget exactly which ones I owned.

i loved these books, and used to get them from my library all the time. i do have to admit though, if i didnt get an ending i liked, i would always cheat and retrace my steps and take another route through the book. the goosebumps ones were definiteyl good too

The Cave of time was the best one in my opinion! and highjacked was pretty cool too
