Got my first one in 5th grade when they were really popular. Mines had the Back to The Future theme. I thought I was the cooliest around.

Ah, so you had cheap parents too? Yeah, I was one of the Trapper Keeperless. I also was forced to wear prowings until I had a pair that lasted all of TWO WEEKS. :x

My parents bought me one to keep me organised, it didn't work, I was still a slob.
I only had one in 6th grade it had a puppy on it. I usually opted for those binders with the clear cover and decorate it my self.
Trapper Keepers were a freakin' ripoff. The plastic rings of the Trapper wear through the holes of the individual folders. The clear plastic cover would tear and flap around. I consider the trapper keeper to be one of those silly marketing gimmicks of the 80s. They cost, what, $4-5 back then?
I had three as a kid. I had a plain one. Had one of those spilled paint designs that were popular in '87-'88. Someone also gave me a brown leather Trapper when I was in highschool. Some of its parts were made of metal, such as the rings and clip.

I had one with a red Camaro on the front. They were very poorly constructed. The tab that opened the rings wore out easily and the plastic cover fell off by the end of the first grading period. Everybody had to have one though!!!

Oh yes I had one, actually I think I had two, but I can only remember the one with a kitten. I really liked them.

I think I had a couple, I know at least one of mine broke during class and all the papers fell out, so it was only good for looking cool. I don't remember what the cover designs were though.

I had a cat one, but i think it was b/c it was the only one that I could find at the time for a girl. But I think I was the only one with a cat one in my class.

Oh man how I wanted one of these sooooo bad. I was a total school supply freak. When I finally got one I babied that thing like you wouldn't believe. I was so carefull not to use up all the stuff that came with it like the paper pad (I freaked when I used all the sheets). Mine had this dictionary that you put in the rings. It wasn't a complete dictionary but as far as I was concerned if it wasn't it there the word didn't exist. Oh and the pencil pouch, had to be very careful not to stretch it out with too many pens and pencils. I know I had issues but I'm much better now.
I know I had one. I remember having one in middle school, can't remember what was on it, though. Didn't know that they were supposed to have been expensive, though.
