Remember Lawn Darts or Jarts!!!!

Very fun untill they got banned from some kid getting seriously
hurt by one....

I barely remember them--- they were not dangerous unless
you played them where there were lots of people around....

Or shooting them up in the air and watching them fall to the ground--
very stupoid thing to do!!!

I sucked at horse shoes also!!!

Probably the J in JARTS means jumbo..

So Jumbo and Darts = JARTS

      Just my weird thought!

I remember them. One of my friends little brothers had one go through his hand because he was playing goalie. Honestly, he wasn't the sharpest penny in the toolshed. And that's saying a lot. I imagine they're arent many sharp pennies in the toolshed.

I would like to play it again. I found a set of jarts in the box at goodwill the other day, but one was broken so I passed it up

When I was a kid I thought mine were too dull so I sharpend them so they would stick in the side of the house better

I remember having a set of lawn darts once.. except they didn't have the tip at the end of them, was some weird shape.

There was a song in the early 90s by Boston band Ed's Redeeming Qualities called Lawn Dart- the chorus was:

She was pegged in the head with a lawn dart
Her dad didn't see her, that's the worst part

Pegged in the head with a lawn dart
So they're now off the shelves at the K-Mart

                        That is all.

aww, my brothers and sister had jarts, and my parent's would never let me play with them because they thought they were too dangerous...that's probably why i'm still alive today, though
