Hi,
me and my colleague at work have been delving into the depths of our memories to try and recall this cartoon.
apparently it was based on an island, and one of the characters was a snake, a a purple one with a posh voice - but a with a lisp.
we have both tried typing "purple snake lisp" into google, but we got some very dodgy sites.
anyone help??

Hmm, this does ring familiar. I seem to recall he had pink diamonds on his back, but I'm not positive. Wait, maybe that's Qbert. Wasn't there a Qbert cartoon?

yea i think it was i download a few cartoons and i think your right sorry was 3 months a go and i watch one time then delated

While not on an island, a purple lisping snake does call to mind the character Sir Hiss in the 1973 Disney cartoon movie 'Robin Hood'. I looked up a picture to help and saw he is not purple after all though. http://disney.go.com/vault/archives/villains/johnhiss/johnhiss.html
Oh heck, I remembered him purple. Must have always been the purple in the background. Sorry, I only have a lisping snake idea then. :(
Spare idea- Maybe Cobra Commander on G.I. Joe had a purple lisping snake.

it defo wasnt the john hiss fellow, altho it does look very familiar.....
my sources say the snake may not have been purple!! cripes.
anyway, i shall keep on looking.
apparenlty the main character lived in a shack on the beach, i thought was charlie chalk but im told by my colleague that its definetley wasnt chalie chalk.
hmmmmm.
(puts hand on chin for a good think)

There was a cartoon that I used to watch and there was a purple snake on it that lisped, I think, the show was called ovide and the Gang

Yea I was thinking Ovide as well. *Hums the theme song* What was that snake's name anyway? I just remember him having the dumb hornbill sidekick..

it's Ovide
you're talking about Cy the snake, he was the 'bad' guy of the show
he had a lisp in the dutch version, so probably in the english version as well
