I recently found the NKOTB Christmas album in a 2nd-hand shop. I didn't even know that they'd made one. I couldn't help buying it, and yep... it's real bad.

Hangin' Tough. Hangin' Tough. We're rough!

    Heh.

I used to torment the girls who would wear those 8 inch buttons of these guys on their jean jackets.

Who all agrees with me that the new kids on the block sucked ?

I wouldn't say they sucked. But they were much better than Hanson, The Backstreet Boys, or *NSYNC.

I own three albums of New Kids on the Block. "New Kids on the Block," "Hangin' Tough," and "Greatest Hits" I also own Joey McIntyre's "Stay the Same." The New Kids on the Block weren't really that bad at all. They had there moments in music history. But I wouldn't doubt it if they did a reunion concert for a 20th Anniversary.

I'll admit to knowing most of the words to Hangin Tough, Not by choice of course.

I was going to say exactly the same thing, however, I disagree with Hanson. Yes "MMMBop" was annoying, but at least Hanson played their own instruments, wrote their own songs, and were completely original (something I can't say for most bands out there) They were just three young teens trying to be absolutely nothing but three young teens, and for that, I give 'em props. I'm not a fan of Hanson in any way, but they get my respect.

I was never a fan of them. I was like the only girlin my 1st garade class who didn't like them. One of my cousins gave me a water bottle with their picture on it. I was embarressed to use it.

I had the NKOTB, shirts, pillows, sheets, everything. I think I was more obsessed with Nsync, mainly for Justin Timberlake.

It's OK, next time I'll make you listen. I wish that it were in the power of all children to say that to their parents and to know that indeed they would be heard as we were in those wonderful days on Waltons Mountain.Narrator The Waltons (From the Runawa

First off, let me premise my post. I hate the term 'boy band". The word band implies that there are musicians in the group. Last I checked, none of the members of NKOTB, Backstreet Boyz, N'Sync, etc. played instruments. So, I will use the term "singing group".

That being said, NKOTB are the most talentless "singing group" of all time. I hate the whole genre, but I know when someone can sing and dance well. Go back and listen to them. The vocals are vile! If I ever have to listen to I'll Be Loving You Forever again, it will cause me to vomit blood. I worked at a Musicland when they were in thier prime and had to listen to Hanging Tough over and over again. Yeah, they are about as tough as my 4 month old daughter. And have about as much soul as my dog.

Then again their style is 80's early 90's stuff. Those were some odd times. You should have heard a bunch of R&B groups that were hot at that time. New Edition, Troop, Mint Condition, Guy, Color Me Badd, Bel Biv Devoe etc...

OMG. I can't think of a worse torture than that.

I just remembered those little "cassettes" that were filled with bubblegum, and there were like 40 different covers to collect or something like that. I had heaps of those.

I loved NKOTB at the time... I remember collecting the glossy trading cards on a Summer trip my family took from California to Arkansas.

Now when I go back and listen to the songs, I cringe. Especially when I hear my at-the-time-favorite-Kid, Jordan Knight's voice. Ugh.

I was sick of hearing about NKotB. I had a cousin who had two VHS tapes on them. One was a live concert and the other was like a behind the music on them.
