Did anyone out there have these Disney audio cassettes which came with the books? They were basically the popular Disney movies and their songs put on cassette tape with a book to follow along with. I just rediscovered my collection and I'm pretty sure I had the entire set. It's got everything from The Great Mouse Detective, Winnie the Pooh, Oliver and Company, Alice in Wonderland, The Little Mermaid, Dumbo, Peter and the Wolf, Bambi, and lots others. I have both red tapes and white tapes and my collection consisted of the Disney classics made before the 90s so I dont have Aladdin, Lion King, etc. I remember listening to these non stop as a kid and even having these tapes play while I slept at night. You wont see kids today with this stuff.
WHAT?

          I have those, but I don't have the case for them. The most recient one I have is the Little Mermaid. I love the Mother Goose one. I use to do the British accents like the narrators had. I knew that one by memory. I'm trying to get some other ones that weren't in that collection like the Gummi Bears and Wuzzles one.

            I had Cinderella and I remember the words in the book didn't match the words on the tape. And it repeated a line. I probably had a lot more than Cinderella, but that's the only one I remember off the top of my head bc one day my dad had a Saturday meeting and he said if I was good and waited in his office till he was done he'd buy me a present and the Cinderella book on tape was it....*Lisa*

              I had....

              * The Little Mermaid
              * Oliver & Company
              * Cinderella
              * Beauty & The Beast
              * Aladdin

              I remember owning Snow White & The Seven Dwarfes on Vinyl also, the record sleeve was white and it had pretty much the entire soundtrack on it also.

                Wow! I remember those. I used to have the entire Disney read-along books with cassettes when I was a kid. I don't even have one anymore. Now, I have the entire collection of Disneyland-era LP's from the 60's like "Snow White", "Cinderella", "Alice in Wonderland", "Peter Pan" and others.

                  I wish my mom would of kept our books on tape and record. I still have my SW books on tape though :D .
                  It's OK, next time I'll make you listen. I wish that it were in the power of all children to say that to their parents and to know that indeed they would be heard as we were in those wonderful days on Waltons Mountain.Narrator The Waltons (From the Runawa

                    The only Disney audio book I had was some book where Mickey, Donald and I believe Pluto got lost in the woods and stumbled onto an old house that was haunted.

                    Other than that I didn't have any other Disney audio cassettes, but I did have these.

                    And I also have the Rumpelstiltskin audio book. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0816775079/102-1276216-7282516?v=glance&n=283155

                    both are in great condition too. :)

                      I also found 2 Disney's Children's Favorites audio cassettes from 1986.

                      Both have that cover but one is blue and one is orange. I listened to these all the time as a kid.

                        I had a stuffed mickey mouse that you put the tapes in his back and his mouth would move and read the story to you. I used to put music in him, but I dont think his mouth moved for that. Fun times, I think its still around in my retro bags in the attick.

                          That wasn't The Mickey Bopper, was it? Or something like that? I think my cousin had one. It was bigger than he was at the time. I had a Big Bird like that. It was my favorite toy.

                          I think I might've had some of those tapes, but I'm pretty sure I had some on small vinyls. Couldn't even tell you what I had. I'll look next time I come across them (maybe Spring Break rummaging? :) )

                              I had a Bopper, but it was different it just danced to music.
