For the girls of the 80's out there...do you gals remember Poochie?

It was a copy-cat of Hello-Kitty, except that Poochie was a dog with bright pink hair. This dog had a line of stationeries, stickers, diaries (I still have mine), stuffed animals, and even a movie out there somewhere.

Whenever I would be mad or sad, my mom would just have to say "Poochie" and that would always make me smile!

odd! the Poochie i knew was it came out in the 90s. it was a robotic dog (also avaliable in cat and bird) and had a button to press as many times you want to do different tricks including singing and dancing.

Nope...this is the Poochie I'm refering to:

      Definitely NOT a robotic toy!

I had one! Poochie was so cute! I also had a brush set with a comb/mirror and face cloth with Poochie on it. Thats something that should be re-released since everything else from the 80's is being whored out again. I would for sure buy another one, I don't know what ever happened to mine.
            Was it ever a T.V. show? :?: I can't remember.

Poochie did have at least one animated special that I am aware of, she goes to egypt I believe w/ an android guy w/a pink hat who helps her solve mysteries....or something to that effect lol. Its been a while....I remember having books and stuffed animals of her. I always associated her more with the cartoon then the merchandise so yes she was a show kind of....I just don't know that it was ever a series. I miss poochie...she was soo cute.
*That's it! I'm so gonna be like Angela Bower...except with better clothes.*

                I still remember the theme:

                Poochie, is it really you?
Sitting at the top knowing what to do
                Poochie, now I understand
how you're always there with a helping hand.

Oh boy, it's not so far away...
I know you'll be there come one day

                Poochie is it really you??

I had a Poochie coloring book when I was a kid. I was (and still am) a raging tomboy, so the main attraction for the coloring book was that one of the secondary characters was a bulldog. My parents have always owned bulldogs, so that's why I got it.

I think you are right about there only being one movie with several of her adventures. I only remember one movie because I remember that same exact episode!

I had the stationery set...it was a Poochie animal and underneath her was a stamp (hot pink of course). You could make your own stationery sets.

I don't ever remember watching Poochie on TV, but I did have a Poochie coloring book.

Yeah I do. I had a stationary set with poochie. It was in a cute little heart box. I used to call my sister poochie, because she bleached her hair so much that it looked like Poochies ears, well except my sisters hair was not pink.

Yep! The cartoon was called "Dear Poochie". Poochie was an advice columnist for a newspaper (in the future?). Hermes was the robot who translated between dog and various human languages. He was very much a C-3PO knockoff, except that he actually spent most of his time doing what he was built for. When needed, he puts on a rubber mask to pretend to be human. There was another robot named Zipcode that read Poochie's mail for her by eating/shredding it. Apparently when she would recieve an "urgent" letter, she had a habit of flying off in her personal jet with Hermes to take care of the problem herself. The Egyptian adventure is also the only one I've ever seen, and may be the only episode to exist. One scene I particularly remember involved Poochie pretending to be a messenger from Osiris, the god of the dead.
