Hi, I'm new here.

In 1979 a group of friends and I did an SNL-style send-up of one of the old Colt 45 commercials for our high school senior show. For the life of me, I can't remember what the tag-line of the commercial was.

For those of you old enough to remember, there was an elegant looking man (no kidding) who sat in a chair out in the middle of nowhere. He had a small table next to him. A butler with a towel over his arm would trudge through all kinds of muck to bring him his beer. Often crazy or disastrous things would be happening all around this man and his butler, yet they seemed to be oblivious to it all.

Anyone remember the words this commercial ended with?

Thanks for your help!

Thank you! What I was looking for was pre-Billy Dee. The website you referred me to had a sound file of the old radio commercial, which sounded like the old TV commercial:

"In the dull and commonplace occurences in day to day living, one thing stands out as a completely unique experience: Colt 45 Malt Liquor."

Of course, while this was being said, the guy was sitting in the middle of a pride of lions in the African veldt, or a house falls down all around him, or some other NOT dull or commonplace thing. He seems to be oblivious to it all while his butler brings him his Colt 45.
