I remember this episode from the original 60's "Star Trek" TV series: the crew of the Starship Enterprise goes to explore some kind of planet, where a bunch of bloodsucking alien lifeforms are attached to the ceiling. At one point, they fly down from the ceiling and the crew has to dodge them. As they escape the room, one of the aliens attaches itself to "Mr. Spock" and tries to drain his life force. Later, Spock returns to the planet, captures the alien lifeform, and brings it aboard the Enterprise. As a kid, this episode REALLY creeped me out! Does anyone know the name of this episode?

The Trouble with Tribbles. You can't trust something as adorable as a Tribble...

No, seriously, I think the episode's name was "Operation: Annihilate!" At least, that's the closest episode I found. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation:_Annihilate!

Definitely one of the most memorable eps of the series, it tends to be the one I remember most too.

Operation Annihilate is the only episode featuring James Kirk's brother, Sam and his family.
It was weird to see Bill Shatner, looking at himself, lying on the floor as Sam's dead body.

Like the rest of you, "Operation -- Annihilate" has always been one of those TOS episodes that stuck out in my mind. I think I made an HD-rip of it somewhere on my computer. I need to see if I can find that. :)

Thank you very much, folks! :) I actually found a clip of this episode on Youtube and it STILL looks creepy! It's unfortunate that CBS took the episodes down from that site. :x I would have liked to have given this one a re-watch along with a few others that I remember seeing during my childhood.

Third season does not have too much to offer after roddenberry bailed out. But a few good episodes.

Been watching Star Trek for the first time ever since it's on netflix, great stuff!

I really like Arena, Tholian Web, and Devil in the Dark

Makes me wonder if Operation Annihilate inspired Alien

The one that always stuck in my mind was:

                  "And the Children Shall Lead"

I wouldn't be surprised if this is where Stephen King got his inspiration for "Children of the Corn".
