A brilliant adaptation of John W. Campbell's brilliant novella "Who Goes There" which the 1951 version "The Thing from Another World" was a terrible adaptation of the story but a good film as it's own. John Carpenter who grew up with the 1951 version and the novella made something special and his version is to this day the most faithful adaptation of the story yet.
I remembered renting this in junior high and it scared the shit out of me, it became an instant fave of mine and i read the novella as it was brilliant and glad this version is very faithful to that story.
