this topic got started with kenner in the lunchbox forum but i thought it a better idea rather then go on a off topic tangent about trapper keepers in the lunchbox thread i decided to create one so, if you remember trapper keepers and had one, tell us about it
my trapper keeper was the Trapper Keeper Ultra Keeper Futura S2000. It had ten different compartments for every subject in school, electronic pencil sharpener, four plastic bags with electronic zippers, copy machine, fax, a better picture of Dawson's Creek than Kyle's, flat screen TV, music player, and of course OnStar. Plus, it could hybrid itself with other electronics like my wellington bear calculator.
nice thread!!! ...i'll remember something else about them: the binder that held the folders in place was state of the art. not the jaws-like metal death clamps...but plastic ones that slid open instead of hinge-ing. i've never seen anything like it since...mead must own the patent and keep it locked up tight.
also we would cut the plastic cover and take out the cardboard decorative poster thing out and replace it with pics from magazines and what not.

My trapper was blue and green and it was cool. It was a basic Trapper Keeper nothing special but I loved it!

Who didn't have a trapper keeper? Remeber the South Park episode about Cartman's Dawson's Creek Trapper Keeper?

i remember my brother saying they were stupid until practically everyone in his class had one....then he wanted one. i'm proud to say i was one of the first in my grade to get one he he and another thing i'm proud of i didn't do it because everyone had one, i just wanted one ^_^ i like organization

I had a plain blue Trapper Keeper in Junior High. I covered it with GPK stickers. One teacher told me that I must have serious emotional issues if I like that sort of thing. When I got to High School I would go through three Trapper Keepers a year. I sooo wanted to be organized, but by the second week of classes I was just stuffing papers into it.
I blame it for Trapping and Keeping many reports that I know I wrote up but mysteriously disappeared.

I had the Mead Organizer instead. And you could slit the front laminating at the top and insert your own art.

is trapper keepers still being made i was in my local grocery store and saw somthing from the trapper line for sale in the dollar area. it was one of those folders that have all the pockets but it had mead trapper on it and it looked like it could be sliped into a trapper keeper.

They might be, but they probably aren't the same as when they came out.
