Anyone remember these?

My uncle gave me an analogue-style LCD (cheap) watch that he bought in 1989 and never wore. :-) I want to get more of this style of watch. I seen a user on eBay selling a few of them from Amsterdam, but it's hard to find these due to the hybrid category they are (analogue display, but digital operation).

Shame these are yet another thing (1980s fad?) that died out when there exists many other kinds of watches today...

http://www.PocketCalculatorShow.com/ may be the place to look for this type of thing, as unique electronics/gadgets are shown there, including vintage digital watches, walkmans, boomboxes, calculators (of course; the site casme from a radio show about them), and other cool & cute gadgets of the 1970s & 1980s...

OK. I knew this was going to be hard to explain. The watch looks exactly like your run-of-the-mill analogue watch, with hands on it. Just these ones I'm talking about are actually digital, with an LCD, that just looks analogue (digital hands).

Lot of 2 LCD analog display watches No reserve

Lot of 4 LCD analog gents 80s watches No reserve

EDIT by adventure_of_link: see my post (which should be a couple posts below this)

I think my dad has/had one, but I'm not entirely sure

also adam917, for those long URL's, either make it into a text based link (which looks a lot Like this) or make www.tinyurl.com your friend.

Don't worry, I'll go back and cleen it up. :)

Right. I was originally going for a text link, but don't know how to do it in this forum...

The 80's had all kinds of weird watches..........

I remember when indiglo was a huge deal, and they even had it on some of those Digital watches that were made to use the LCD to make everything appear "digital".

I remember once having a really krazy watch that was a rubber frog with a watch in it's mouth, it might have been digital/analog style too. That darned thing was so big it looked funny on my 8 year old arm, so it never left the house.

What you mean by 'made to use the LCD to make everything appear "digital"'? Was it a dot-matrix watch?

Actually, it was supposed to say "appear as analog", I was really sleepy when I typed that.
