You know, the Freddy Krueger/Hulk Hogan/New Kids on the Block numbers where you would call and get some pre-recorded messages for up to 1.50$ a minute? Personally, I never did, but God bless the 90s for having something as absurd as "Dial An Insult", where you call a 1-900 number and a machine insults you for a dollar a minute.

I remember the New Kids one. Tried it a couple times but it was ALWAYS busy. Don't think I ever got in trouble for the charges that showed up on the phone. hehe

I used to call the 900 number since I was bout 11 years old. I remember I used to call Mighty Mouse, Freddy Kruger, Woody Woodpecker, DJ Jazzy Jeff, New Kids on the Block, Dracula and many others that I do remember for years.

I also remember that my dad got mad when he showed his phone bill a long time ago that it says PREMIUM many times. My mom and dad spanked me that I was not supposed to use the phone again. I cried when I was so upset over the 900 number thing. That brought back some bad memories about not suppose to call 900 numbers. That was so bad. I used to dial the following numbers:

              1-900-909-1122
              1-900-909-DEAD
              1-900-909-JEFF
              1-900-909-3500
              1-900-909-4300
              1-900-909-FRED
              1-900-909-GALS

              Those were the memories

I was allowed to make one call to the Santa 900 # per yr. Funny thing is I don't even remember what he said! I think it was some type of voice recording.

Nope I never did but my cousin called a sex hotline one and he did not get permission from his mom. And when his mom found out I didn't see that cat for about a week or two.

Sad to say I called a psychic lady once. For fun. She told me my dog that had died would come back as a cat, and find me. Yeah that never happened. I wish I could have my 100 dollars back. She was crafty, and kept me on the phone. Ah the dumb ways we waste money when we are young.

                        I never had permission.
So a couple of nights ago, for fun, I called the New Kids on the Block number with my friend. Sadly it had been disconnected.

I remember calling Cartoon Network's 09011 competition lines in 1999 and 2000. Didn't win, though.
I also once called an 09 games helpline but I couldn't manage to get the help I needed. D'oh.

i remember those. they had a PS2 giveaway on Toonami once and the first person to dial the number when the commercial for the number was on, they won a PS2. i was so damn pissed because i didn't win.

                                    That reminds me!

Due to PS2 shortages, there were so many "win a PS2" competitions in "way early 2001" . One of them was advertised on Cartoon Network! If you won the contest, your PS2 would have included 3 games (not sure which ones) .

I used to call the Nintendo Game Tip Hotline. $1.99 Canadian per minute.

A friend of mine and I attempted to call one of the 1-900 Wrestlemania numbers from a Chuck E Cheese at his birthday party. Unfortunately we must've hit one of the numbers incorrectly.

Never in my life have I seen a payphone slammed down so fast.
