Singer James Brown dies at 73
ATLANTA - James Brown, the legendary singer known as the "Godfather of Soul," has died, his agent said early Monday. He was 73.
Brown was hospitalized Sunday at Emory Crawford Long Hospital with pneumonia and died around 1:45 a.m. Monday, said his agent, Frank Copsidas of Intrigue Music. Longtime friend Charles Bobbit was by his side, Copsidas said.
The agent said Brown's family was being notified of his death and that the cause was still uncertain. "We really don't know at this point what he died of," Copsidas said.

I was just about to make a post on this too. Its a shame that a huge influence on music has to die. Especially since the cause of death is still unknown. Most likely from the pneumonia he was in the hospital with.

Poor James Brown, I really fell for him and his family and all his fans out there, to lose him at such a time as Christmas is really quite tragic.
I am so sad this man died. He was so full of emotion, aka soul. In a more optimistic sense, he lived a full life. He could not leave this world on a better day - Christmas. May he rest peacefully in Heaven.

It seems like we've lost a lot of people from past retro years. First Peter Boyle, then Joe Barbera, James Brown, and now former president Gerald Ford has just died at 93. All in the midst of the tenth anniversary of the Ramsey murder case.
That does suck.. especially on Christmas Day

This guy is one of the most important people in music. Easily. James Brown...you are god.
