What were the best/worst/most bizarre store-bought Halloween costumes from your youth? I don't mean creative, interesting home-made costumes, but rather the rubbery jumpsuits with the hard-plastic masks that caused your face to sweat. Remember, the mask featured a flimsy rubberband that inevitably broke. What are the ones that you remember?:D

80's plastic costumes were the best man. Shame on you. Man in the day Wal Mart really did Halloween up. There were rows and rows of these costumes. Nowadays kids costume selections are about as cool as the lame piccasoesque cartoons they're forced to watch.

Post more pics of these costumes.

I remember these different costumes that my old classmates wear their favorite in my class back in 1st grade, 1988 when I was 6.

I think mine was Garfield plastic costume like that around I was 7 or 8 years old back in 1989 or 1990.

The only costume I had like that was a Rainbow Brite Twink one I wore in 1987.

I'm sorry but all my halloween customes where made by this lady accross the street from me, she was a seamtrist so she was really good at making my costumes. One day around 3rd grade she made an M&M custome and it was design to fit even adults so I wore that the rest of my life.
I'm only 22, but why does this place make me feel old?

Perhaps one of the best Hallowen costumes I ever witnessed was created by a high school student of mine. A retro game junkie, he constructed a massive "space invader" with boxes painted green and black. . . . completely digitized. He wore this like those "card soldiers" in ALICE IN WONDERLAND. He also moved laterally.

I had the Gamorian Guard costume. I don't really remember why I wanted that costume... guess I just thought it looked mean.

I actually wore that Gizmo costume one year. Another year I was Charlie Brown ( mom couldn't find a Snoopy one ) still another year I was Cy Kill from the Gobots ( how I ended up with that one I don't know. I never did care that much about Gobots )

I'm with Rhimmer in the same regards... I don't particularly care for "Store Bought Wall*Mart Superheroes" because they tend to suck.

Personally, I've never celebrated Halloween all that much growing up, so I never really bought a costume. Now that I'm an adult, I'm actually making an effort to make Superhero Costumes the way they were meant to be: Tight fitting Spandex gear with a huge "wow" factor.

I love those old Ben Cooper costumes from the 70's and 80's. I never had one growing up because the church we attended considered Halloween a Pagan holiday. As an adult I find Halloween a totally fun time and I look forward to it every year.

I remember those masks. They were hard to breathe in so I would end up light-head after trick or treating. Remember Kooky spooks? Those costumes which were a huge blow-up head and a poncho. My mom got these for my brother and I. Mine had a leak so had to blow it up all the time.
