I have very little info but was hoping someone here maybe able to help..

I'm trying to find the name of a TV program which included a hoovering robot(kinda looked like e-t with a long neck and funny shaped head), a boy and a dog this was in the mid to late 80's and the programs where all based around those three running away from some people who usally had a van?...

I know this reads kinda vague Thought i'd post in hope... thx...

Edit: Apparently, more specifically, it was "Benji, Zax & the Alien Prince". I don't remember that title at all. I only remember it being Benji.
