When did they get to be so tacky looking?
I was running through the Cinplex Entetainment site because I wanted to see if they had anything on the Transformers movie and they have pictures of their Multiplexes in Toronto, Vaughan, Langley and Montreal. I don't ever remember any movie theatres in Toronto being that tacky.
The Scotiabank Theatre, which used to be the Paramount Theatre, is so tacky. I can't believe that the Mayor of Toronto lets big business walk all over the city council like that just to build a big and tacky looking multiplex theatre that nobody ever visits. :rolleyes:
What ever happened to the days where you could go to the theatre and not be blinded by the outside of a Multiplex? I hate what they've done to the Varsity Theatre. It's not even a movie theatre anymore. It's a multiplex with consession stands and every type of junk food imaginable.
My mom says that there used to be all kinds of beautiful theatres in the theatre district and now all there are are these tacky multiplexes. If I wanted to see a movie at an IMAX theatre then I would go to an IMAX theatre but fortnuately for me I wouldn't be able to withstand the noise in one of those IMAX theatres anyways.

right, i can see that , same as other retro things, not as good but despite how it looks if there was a movie there that i really wanted to see id go there though if its the only option around, but thats just me and actually here in my town we have an old fashined theater consisiting of only two rooms ..two movies a month and it's like 6.50 to see a movie, its crazy. I havent seen a flashy huge theater for a few years, the only one near me is prolly in the Palasades mall in new york state. In Canada where i lived before there was about 6 "silvercitys" around if not more those are basically the same type flashy huge theater chain and it's like 14.50 plus all the tax so in the end i think its over 20 bucks or somthing rediculous to see a moive and there was no cheap small theaters around. Oh ya and around the gaden state mall area( New Jersey) theres this one theater that has wooden seats and the theater itself was long and narrow, no flashy lights at all.

What part of Toronto are living in Celeste? The ones I go to in Brampton are not that tacky. I am from Montreal and the theaters there are not tacky at all.

ya get what you pay for? does that apply to these so called "tacky" theaters?
Why do we need a full-service bar in a multiplex anyways? Really? I can't think of a single reason why we would need that kind of thing unless you're over 19. If you're under 19 you can't go into a bar. :rolleyes:
