hello
please help me remember this show because it's driving me mad!!!!

so i think it's an 80's show or early 90s at the latest because i remember the old style... and it was about this teenage girl (who i remember to have brown curly hair and slightly throaty voice) who, at the end of the day woudl sit by her big window and talk to the moon kind of like its her diary... i think she had a name for the moon too (and i also think she had a single mom?) i know that's not much to find a show by, but the talking to moon thing was something she did in every episode...

i think this one episode i remeber was from this show... and the episode was that she wanted to go to a school dance but her mom couldn't get her a new one so her mom convinces her to get it from a second hand store which she doesn't want to do, but when she actually goes she finds this dress wiht a stain that she loves, so her and her mom decide to get it and put a flower on it. at the dance however, this one rich popular girl comes upto her and says that she really likes her dress and they seem to have similar taste, then proceeds to say she had a dress just like that and she donated it to a second hand store because it had a stain. then the girl rips off the main girl's dress's flower and reveals to the whole school that she got it second hand...

please help me find this show becuase it's been seriously driving me mad and ireally want to find out. thank you!!!

I'm pretty sure your talking about the short lived show "The Torkelsons".

The main character Dorothy Jane would alway talk to the moon at the
end of every ep. And I do remember her wanting to go to a dance.

There also was a short lived spin off that had most of the previous characters
in it. It was called Almost Home.

It's OK, next time I'll make you listen. I wish that it were in the power of all children to say that to their parents and to know that indeed they would be heard as we were in those wonderful days on Waltons Mountain.Narrator The Waltons (From the Runawa
