So, Disney has adapted BEAUTY AND THE BEAST and most famously LION KING for stage. What cartoon/animated feature would you like to see adapted for the stage? How would you stage it?

-I think a SCOOBY-DOO live action musical could be interesting . . . def. "person in dog suit" for Scoobs . . . .

-Also, MONSTER HOUSE could be an interesting piece with projections for the house . . . .

Little Mermaid is going to replace Beauty and the Beast on broadway. Tarzan is also on broadway. I think Mary Poppins is going to be made on broadway also.

Yep, TARZAN is there . . . mediocre to bad reviews . . . looks like the literal adaptations are often somewhat uninteresting in comparison to the re-imagining such as with Taymor's KING. POPPINS is supposedly darker. A met a playwright who was once hired to adapt DEAD POETS into a musical. Ouch! Bad idea!

The first Land Before Time. Would be weird with songs added in.

I think the Hunchback Of Notre Dame wouldnt do so bad. Of course there is a lot of singing, why shouldnt it go on Broadway?

Aeon Flux... all that idiosyncratic stuff would go great with interpretive dance numbers and a live orchestra.

I can almost picture Trevor pirouetting onto the stage: "Aeon, you know not the power of the ages which befalls you."

Aeon would then do some acrobatic stuff and say "You have the power, but I hold the key to destiny."

That pretty much sums the whole series up... a lot of dialogue that doesn't really mean a whole lot. I love it though.
