Of all the characters on Sesame Street, why did they make Elmo the star of the show and ruin it all? Why is it all about Elmo? Share the best...and the worst parts of Sesame Street, whether you like Elmo or think Zoey is annoying.

ya it sucks but what can you do really, Jim Henson would be turning in his grave if only he knew what Sesame Street has amounted too.

Who would you rather see being popular?

I dont think they should make one muppet more popular than any other, every one should be equal imo as best as possible

I always if anyone was the star of Sesame Street, it was Big Bird. My favorites was always Grover. It's kind of the same with X-men now, and I hate it when they do something like this. With X-men, they are pretty much just doing everything with Wolverine. There is a new animated X-men series coming called Wolverine and the X-men.

I always thought Big Bird was the best but then tickle-me-elmo came out and... bam!

Wolverine and the X-Men? I thought it was just Wolverine and was just a movie.

COOKIE MONSTER! Umyumyumyumyum (approximating the sound he makes when he munches on cookies)!

SS has turned into the biggest bunch of PC slop. I have the "Old School" box set, and the segments are all about 5-10 minutes long. The segments now are about 5-10 seconds long. There's even a disclaimer at the beginning of each episode that says that these episodes are not appropriate for today's children.

Big Bird used to be the "symbol" of Sesame Street; now it's Elmo. I remember when Elmo was just a random muppet- and had a different voice too. I'm old enough to remember that! Cookie Monster can't be all about cookies anymore because for some reason it promotes unhealthy behavior? COME ON!! I'd say that this generation of kids- with the "health conscious Cookie" are more obese than the kids who had the insane ravinous Cookie!

it was better when they had lil segments with all the muppets interacting with humans or eachother, now its rather bland.

Well who was the original and first muppet on Sesame Street? Was it Big Bird, because that makes him older and have more rank in all this, of course he'll never sound the same again and its just all weird to me...

What? That's ridiculous! Are they afraid the episodes are not PC enough or something?

I once read a thing on Sesame Street where they said Elmo was the end for Sesame Street and called Elmo the Kid Rock of Sesame Street. I thought that was extremley accurate.

Sesame Street has still have all the muppets, elmo IS NOT HOGGING THE SHOW! Elmo is a faviorte, but others are concenred too.

dude. what is are the english class you are taking?

Seriously, elmo is ruining the show. His elmo's world is very wracking.

Making it all PC is a very dumb move. Having cookie monster promoting healthy eating habits, while weaning him off of his cookie addiction, is ruining his whole purpose.

The AIDS positive muppet is not needed. Yes, AIDS is a problem, but to make an AIDS muppet, shows that they are fresh out of ideas.

When i was a kid, I would chomp at the bit to watch Mr. hooper, and the gang. I loved the former self that was Sesame Street.

I haven't seen a new episode since 2006. I have reconized the Cookie Monster being healthy.

Where have you seen all this junk? The Corporation For Public Brodcasting couldn't fund the show again till sometime this year. Did the new season start early? I thought it would start during the fall TV season.

However, I've reconized a little sesame street contreversy.

But reruns from episodes that premiered a few years ago ain't half bad. Elmo isn't hogging 80 perecnt, he's only hogging 20% with elmo's world.

You're all crazy. I have never seen Sesame Street act like a TV-MA show.

If I ever get the chance, I will call Sesame Workshop and say you're all crazy.

Whether elmo sells toys or not, PBS has to go through strict laws for Children's Programming.

I am old enough to remember the decent, and good episodes of Sesame St.

There is an HIV/AIDS muppet, she looks like a blue elmo, and she is indeed on the S. African verson of the show. I am not crazy, neither are you, we just have some crative differences.

The way they are running that show now, makes we want to direct it. I would be a far better director of it, than what they have now. All of this politcally correct crap has got to stop....

                                      sorry for my ranting.

I don't get to watch Sesame Street since I have an 8 to 5 job now. Personally, I would like to see more of a direction in exploring Oscar's world.
