Remember the Wuzzles? This cartoon was made by Disney and featured animals that were mixed species.

I liked Bumblelion the best. He was a mix between a bumble bee and a lion.

Any favorite memories of this cartoon?

It was Disney's first TV cartoon along with the Gummi Bears. Here's an interesting fact: Both shows came out on the same day, but different channels. The Wuzzles was on CBS (but moved to ABC in 1987) and the Gummi Bears was on NBC (but moved to ABC in 1989).

It only made 13 episodes though which sucked. The voice of Moosel (Bill Scott) died, I think that's why it was cancelled.

At my local thrift store I saw a book based on The Wuzzles. It was a good show. Disney should release this on DVD.

Bill Scott was also the voice Gruffi Gummi on Gummi Bears, and the continued that show without him, so I don't if that had anything to do with it.

I don't know why it didn't last, I think CBS was pissed off that Disney was putting another cartoon the Gummi Bears on NBC.

:o Oops, I didn't know that, I always thought Corey Burton did the voice of Gruffi. I never watch the credits of shows, sorry for my mistake.

You are correct, in season 2 through the end of the series. Bill Scott was the original voice of Gruffi in the first season.

I loved this cartoon. It was very original and had some funny plots. It was a pretty big deal for Disney to put somthing out like this since at the time the Disney still meant quality so it was expected that this was going to be a great show.

My older sister, a teenager at the time, even had an Eleroo (Sp?) doll.

I watched a season 1 episode today on DVD and I actually watched the credits and I did saw Bill Scott's name. Thank you for correcting me. Now I felt stupid for not watching the credits. Maybe it was the ending music that turned me off.

Yes, it was weird. I think I only saw like 1 episode. I think the show was too kitzchy for my tastes.

The show does deserve a DVD release.
