How old were you when you first got your own TV? What kind was it? Size? Etc?
I got a 12" b/w set when I was 13. It was brand new, yet the model was old/cheap enough that it had knobs & the twin lead screw connections for both UHF and VHF. I also got a convertor box and a tandy color computer 3 to go with it.
A year later I got a 13" color TV. Again with the knobs, but this one had the coax connection for VHF (but still twin leads for UHF).
A nice thing about twin lead connections though is that you can split the connection with nothing more than a chunk of speaker wire. I used to have both sets next to each other, for a pseudo picture in picture arrangement, often playing games on one while watching tiny toons on the other.

Not counting a late 1970's-vintage Sony 19" Trinitron color TV my dad handed down to me in 1988 after he bought a new one, I bought my first brand new TV in the spring of 1990, about a year after moving out of my dad's house and getting my own apartment, which was a Sears brand (I believe a re-branded Sanyo) 19" stereo TV. I still had the Sony that my dad gave me, but the picture tube was about to go.
The first TV that I bought on my own was a 13" portable w/stand from SEARS in 1972. It was for my room and that's when I started my life long habit of falling asleep with the TV on all the time.

My first self purchased TV was a Sony Bravia in like 2006. It was a 32" and cost 1700! I can get a 42" for 500 now..
My first TV period was a little black Sharp. I have a picture of me sitting on a small trampoline playing NES on it in the early 90s. We actually still had the TV up until recently. I wanted to take another picture playing on it like in the first shot. Sadly, I'll never get to now.

My first TV was a black and white my parents won in a drawing at the now defunked membership store called Gemco back in like 1981. I got the TV when I got my Nintendo system back Christmas of 1986 when I was 10. On Christmas of 1988 I got my first color TV. It was a cheap Rhapsody brand. You had to manually tune in each channel and store it in a bank. It had these transparent numbers for the channel you cut out and put in this tray that slid into the TV. My dad and I got into a big argument over how to program it. I was figuring it out, but my dad kept saying I was doing it wrong. Per usually I was right and he was wrong. They wanted to bring it back and get a different one, but we ended up keeping it. It was so nice to be able to play my games in color for a change.

Both of the tvs I mentioned were samsung. I still have both & the last time I fired them up (several years ago), they both worked fine. The b/w set has been sitting in the garage. The VHF knob broke off years & years ago, but I had a construction toy thing that fit on there perfectly & has been making a fine knob ever since. It also has "channel 88 is not available" burned into the screen, because I used to put the cable box on a null channel when there was nothing decent on, so I wouldn't have to get up & turn the tv off.
The color set had no issues that last time it was fired up.
Of course, with the digital switch, both sets are of little use these days. Still, I could hook up one of my old game systems or VCRs to them.

The first one that I can remember was one of those that you have to get up press the on/off button and change the channels turning a knob-like thingy. It was a pain. Hey I even wish for at least to have the Flintstones remote control.
A Sanyo Telecolour from the early 1980s with woodgrain laminate covering. It had 2 large knobs, colour/brightness adjuster, volume control that doubles as on/off switch and 2 headphone outputs.

Mine was a little late 80's zennith model, wood grain with remote. It had the antenna that you had to connect with two wires.
My first own TV was the parents' old one when they replaced it. Approx 20" screen. Wood grain case. Channel buttons (up, down, 0-9) with 7 segment display for current channel. No remote. The volume/power knob was solid and heavy. It had a "Color Pilot" toggle button for more or less saturation and four dials below the screen (v-hold, color, bright, and...something else). The perfect old TV imo.
First TV I bought myself was a 7" black and white with channel dials. That was in 1998. I collect old TVs but I don't have either of those any more.

I got my own TV for my 8th Birthday. It was about 12" and in color. Had its own VCR, too. Pretty sure it is still in my room- I brought it to college with me. I preferred it to a new one because I could watch my old movies. I just watched DVDs on my PC.
The first one I remember using was a knobbed, white-faced, black and white TV. No idea the brand or anything... it was a medium size... we could fit it on a rolling cart when we needed to. But I do remember when it died! My parents took it into their bedroom when we got a color TV and I went in to watch cartoons and the thing blew up in a cloud of smoke! Back when people kept their TVs long enough to see that happen.

It was about 1976, so I would have been about 8 years old. My grandma bought me a 13 inch black and white TV for my bedroom. And TVs, even small ones, were rather expensive back then. I watched that TV while lying in bed at nights all the way up until high school. I couldn't bear to watch a black and white TV anymore. Funny, because I still watch a lot of old TV shows and movies that were filmed in B/W.

I was 14 when I got my first tv, it was not a tv per say. But a 9"-10" monochrome monitor I got from my aunt. It had a composite connection on the back. It was green, but hey I was able to watch tv using a vcr. I discovered the Outer Limits and Married with children with that monitor.
Oh man, I want a monitor like that for my collection.

13 maybe 14 years old had when my moms gave me and my brother some TV who my neighbor wanna dispose.
I dont know his model and size, but his brand are "Grundig", its was nice but when ive got 16 years old something broke out, and cannot be repaired, so goes to trash.
Not mine TV, but ive enjoyed watching on him almost all my childhood, some 70s "Funai" size 14" he belongs to my father and he purchase him before married to my moms.
