What was the title of an instrumental song that came out in the mid 1980's? The melody sounded like it featured a synthesizer keyboard. The music video for this featured a group of mannequins (perhaps they were "Crash Test Dummies?") dancing to the rhythm of the song. Does anybody know the name of the artist who made it?

I still hear the song every now and then on radio stations that play "Oldies".

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers! :)

Sincerely, Steve B.

I didn't click the link, but I think the song you're describing is Rock It by Herbie Hancock.

Edit: I clicked the link and I was right! lol Wow...so many memories. This video used to creep me out, but I liked it at the same time.

That video gave me nightmares, and solidifyed my fear of mannequins when I was younger.

Even now it still gives me the creeps, especially that mannequin in the bed *shivers*

I figured it would be it. I can see how it would creep some people out.

No...this is not it. The melody of this song is similiar to the song I am thinking of, but it is still a different song. The music video to "my song" had different looking mannequins too. They were more robotic looking, and had moving gears (and nuts, bolts, and screws, too) if memory serves me right.

Thanks for the help everybody. I will keep searching.

            Cheers!

            Sincerely, Steved B.

Axel F? From Beverly Hills Cop?
I don't remember the video, but it fit the other descriptions.

Okay, I was looking through the comments of the "Rock It" video and someone mentioned that it reminded them of a band called Kraftwerk (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kraftwerk). Maybe your video has something to do with them?

Kraftwerk, eh? When I think of Kraftwerk, I think "Trans Euro Express". I'm not sure if it ever had a video, but the song did have synthesizers in it from what I'm remembering.

That's it!!! "Axel F." Thank you very much! But what happened to the "Stick Figure/Mechanical People" I remember seeing dancing to the song's melody? Perhaps there were more than one "music video" filmed for this song?

                    Cheers!

This is the only video I could find at the moment.
