Inspired by Retrogal's "scariest things that happened to you" post, has anyone here thought theyve seen a ghost, monster, UFO, etc. when they were little (or personally knew someone who claimed too?)

i remember when i was 5 or 6 waking up at midnight and looking down the dark hall into the bathroom and seeing a green glowing blob floating around--kinda reminded me of Slimer i guess--the really strange thing is that it had four arms, two with white gloves on and two with black gloves. So i crept terrified into the hall towards it to get to my dad's room, whispered for him to come out, and could actually see this thing behind him when he came into the hallway. I told him to turn around without turning on the light, but he turned it on and the thing disappeared.

I've had very strange experiences that I do believe were paranormal, but I've never actually seen a ghost. I have a photo from the Gettysburg battlefield where you can CLEARLY see the spirit of a soldier, but that was nothing I saw in person, I just saw it in the photo.

I believe I've been visited by spirits before but the thing is, I'm always half sleep. Just a few days ago, I felt someone looking over me and when I opened my eyes, it looks like 3 kids in shadow form were playing around me and ran away, I ran into the living room and stayed there until morning. I don't know if it was my imagination or not but I know that feeling of someone being right in front of my face was real.

More stories from me as the thread grows. ;)

I live with ghosts. I've seen Orbs (little floating lights that look like...well orbs), and ghosts. There was a spirit living in an old rocking chair that we used to have. I called him Jack Daniels.

There was even animal spirits that we'd see around (One was a little black cat we called Vodka and the other was a brown dog we called Brandy) and things used to get moved/turned on/the usual things ghosts do.

I often see orbs out the corner of my eyes and no it's not a mirror reflection.

I've never seen a ghost, but I've seen photos that have convinced me. Here's the story of one (note: this was taken out of my blog, because I'm too lazy to re-type it): This is something that I've told several others about this week. My new pal, Lacy and I were talking about ghosts. I love talking about ghosts, and I truly don't know why. I've never seen one, although I've seen some pretty weird, unexplainable things occur, and thinking about them makes me sleepless at night. Anyway, she was telling me that her friend's mom was taking photographs of her house for insurance purposes with a regular camera using film. Keep in mind, she was alone with her cats while taking these photos. When she developed the photos, one had a green discoloration on it, but she noticed what she thought was a figure. Out of curiousity, she had the photo corrected in a dark room. The corrected photo showed a woman (clear as day) sitting down, hanging out at the bottom of the stairs. Lacy sent me a message with the photos, and it's the creepiest photo ever! Here they are:

actually i know how you feel...

i was very interested in exorcism for about 1 month. and of course ghosts are just a fantastic mysterium... i did much research on it, which i still do. but i gotta say, be careful, people!. if you really are interested in such topics, be careful. i've heard from several cases where people start getting crazy and stuff... this is not a stupid joke! it's not that easy to cope with....

WHAT FOLLOWS IS A TRUE STORY ABOUT A OBSESSED GIRL FROM GERMANY (ca. 1970). IF YOU ARE NOT SURE TO READ THIS, THEN JUST DON'T DO IT!:
as for exorcism: there was this german female student who obsessed by the devil. the movie "exorcism of emily rose" is about her, but i never saw it. demons started to tell her what to do... and that's some creepy stuff (i don't wanna write about that here and now... but if you're interested you probably know where to start searching). her parents gave their approval to start with an exorcism-therapy.. and there some demons used her to communicate with our world. one said his name was napoelon, another time he said it's hitler speaking.... actually they wanted to use her body to escape from hell. her body was kinda alternative from hell...

that's a true story, really creepy stuff.
in this case you could probably also say that she was schizophrenic... but we'll never know for sure!

she stopped eating, drank only holy water and started to scratch herself over her whole body, so she was bleeding a lot... she then died because her body was just too weak...

YOU CAN GO ON READING HERE... :)
after a while, i don't wanted to do more research... you really seem to get crazy after a while and it was not always easy to go to bed and sleep. so i decided not to go on just like that... but i still do some research about ghosts.

It was my 7th grade year. It was a few months after my dad died. I walked in the door after school and I looked to my right. I swear I saw my dad sitting on a bench in the dining room. He waved to me and I waved back. I turned my head and he was gone.

I guess, in a way, that seeing his ghost was the last time I ever saw him.

I tried so many times and it just didn't happen. Last time my best friend's boyfriend died and we tried to contact him..we actually found an ouija board in an old trunk in an unused-forever attic in his families ancient Nantucket haunted house one week after he died...surrounded by old family portraits and cobwebs...(it's actually part of the "ghost tour"..attn. Ackman!) After this I lost my faith in ghosts. But then again, I probably would have died of fear..no matter how friendly or familiar the ghost.

Shankenstein, I really hope that is real. It is very, very creepy and I love it.
